Manifest Your Desired Outcomes Archives

Well, we’re all still here.  There was no apocalypse, no fiery meteors showered the Earth, no cataclysmic events eradicated humanity.  My personal theory remains that the Mayans got tired of chiseling, and went about inventing the Margarita instead.

Can you imagine what would have happened if we had been absolutely certain, without a shadow of a doubt, that the world was going to end on a lovely Friday in December?

I doubt most of us would have shown up to work for the last six months.  We would have flocked to beaches and mountains and beautiful places on our planet, spent whatever money was in our savings accounts, and indulged in a lot of unhealthy food.  We would have surrounded ourselves with the people we truly want to be with, and we would have done only what we really wanted to do.

If the end of the world were guaranteed, our choices would have no consequences.  Free of the fear of what other people think, free of the responsibilities of paying our mortgage and our credit card bills, many of us would finally allow ourselves to do what is truly our Soul’s authentic self-expression.

Except, of course, our society would also have come to a screeching halt.  No-one would show up to work, which means our grocery stores would empty, restaurants would close, garbage would collect in the streets, and the rules of our society would disintegrate into chaos.

Karma keeps us from self-destruction.  But karma can also keep us in limitation.  It all depends on how you handle the system of karma.

We can make choices to avoid unwanted consequences.

We can make choices to create desired consequences.

Both sets of choices can look exactly the same from the outside – but the intent behind these choices is vastly different, and so the consequences are also vastly different.

We can choose to go to work every day because we don’t want to lose our home, because we don’t want our parents to think we’re a slacker, because we don’t want to disappoint our children or our spouse.

In our own business, we can make choices that keep us from losing clients, we can write so we don’t lose people from our list, we can water down our marketing message so that we don’t piss people off.

On the other hand, we can choose to go to work every day because we want to create the home of our dreams, because we feel fulfilled as we express our brilliance, because we want our children to live abundantly, because we want to support our spouse.

We can choose to market ourselves authentically in order to attract our ideal clients, we can choose to make offers and structure our business so that we have the most fun while we do our Soul’s purpose.

One set of choices creates a prison of our own making.

The other set of choices creates heaven on earth.

From the outside, they look exactly the same.

Imagine, for a moment, that you only have a few days left on this planet.  What would you immediately stop doing?  And why?

What choices in life are you currently making only because you fear negative consequences?  What about choices in your business?  What are you creating from fear?

What choices would you immediately start making if you only had a few days left in this human form?  What choices would you make in your business if you knew that you would not fail?

What would you create from love – love for your Soul’s self-expression within this human form?

Choices made from fear create more fear.  Choices made from love create more love.  The polarity between the two is becoming more and more apparent as we move into 2013.  And whether we create from fear or love – that is completely up to us!

Blessings,
Andrrea

Have you ever had this experience?

You have a fantastic, creatively inspired idea.  The idea is for a book, a new program, a new way of marketing yourself, an article, or maybe a whole new business direction.  The inspiration strikes you in the shower, while driving, while doing the dishes.  And you are excited by this idea!

The idea doesn’t let you go over time, either.  It arises again and again in those moments when you’re doing something mindless, like exercising or going for a walk or cleaning the house.  It’s always there, in the back of your mind.

The idea goes on your list of things to do … someday …

…. after you’ve done your taxes.
…. after you’ve answered your emails.
…. after you’ve finished your Christmas shopping.
…. after you’ve cleaned the house.
…. after the kids start school.
…. after you’ve finished updating the copy for your website.

In other words … never.

Let’s face it.  Someday never comes!

What you’re really doing is withholding.  You are not allowing your Soul its creative self-expression!  Because, let’s face it, those inspirations come straight from your Higher Self and point you towards your purpose!

And yes, these inspirations never come at a convenient time.

You already have too much to do.  You had a plan for the day, the week, the month … and that plan did not include a creative project!  Your plan didn’t include writing a book, or creating a whole new website.

And so you tell yourself that you’re going to get through “everything” that’s already on your plate … and THEN you’ll give yourself the gift of creative self-expression.

What you’re really doing is telling the Universe that you’re willing to put your Soul’s self-expression last.  You’re willing to wait on your Soul Purpose.  You’re more willing to clean the house and answer your emails than you’re willing to express your Divinity.

How can you expect to create a life of abundance when you’re not willing to trust that inspiration comes at the perfect time?  How can you expect abundance when you’re not willing to give yourself the gift of the time and energy it takes to DO your Divinity?

Trust.

Trust that when inspiration comes, and you take action on it, there will still be time to do everything that “needs” to get done.

Trust that following your Soul’s plan is going to create more abundance and be more productive for you than following your mind’s plan.

Your Soul has inspired you now.  Therefore, the inspiration is meant for NOW.

Don’t argue with the wisdom of your Soul.

Blessings,
Andrrea

You may have heard me or other teachers say: “If you have the desire, then what you desire must also be available to you.”  And I do believe that.  Our Soul is not a sadistic jerk that inspires us with desire, like a carrot dangling in our hearts, only to lead us into a lifetime of disappointment.

Your desires are sacred.  If you have a dream or vision in your heart that inspires you, then you also have the innate Divine Gifts that will allow you to make that vision your reality.

But then I watched the “X-Factor” auditions the other night.

And I started to wonder.

Those passionate but absolutely awful singers certainly have a strong desire, a dream, a vision.  They see themselves as future stars.  But the reality is that … well, they kind of suck!

And I started thinking about some of the spiritual folks I meet and talk to on a regular basis.  They, too, have a big vision for themselves.  But all too often, their reality is NOTHING like their vision.  I don’t for one second doubt their Divine Gifts!  But they are struggling – struggling financially, struggling to find clients, struggling to define their niche, struggling to communicate their value.  But they certainly WANT their vision.

So are some desires just NOT available to us?

I think the answer lies in the fine line between desire and delusion.

And just in case you want to stop reading now because you are VERY sure that you are NOT delusional … please, humor me.  Keep reading.

The line between desire and delusion is minuscule at times.  We who are highly conscious cross that line routinely, and we don’t even realize it.  And that fine little line can mean the difference between success and heartbreaking disappointment.

When we are delusional in our vision, we are arguing with third-dimensional reality.

Delusion tries to transcend the “rules” of third-dimensional life.  For example, we may have a grand vision of bringing our message to thousands of people.  But we refuse to learn how to effectively market ourselves.  Or we don’t actively sell our products and services, disdainfully pronouncing that “the money will come eventually.”  Or, when we do engage in business and no results are forthcoming, we make up really spiritual-sounding reasons for why the money isn’t showing up.  You know … “lessons” we still have to learn, a state of “readiness” that we still have to achieve … the usual.

When we are delusional, we keep coming up with schemes that will allow us to manifest our giant vision in two or three easy steps.  Usually those steps involve leveraging other people’s money, other people’s connections, or other people’s expertise … which are, in our delusion, conveniently offered without reservation, just because of our inherent awesomeness.  In other words, we want our vision to just happen to us.

But really, we are just trying to break the rules of third-dimensional reality.  We’re trying to skip to the result without actually doing the WORK.

We can’t master this physical dimension when we keep arguing with its experience.

Desire, on the other hand, acknowledges that our vision will require a significant investment of our time, energy, and money.  Desire acknowledges that our intentions will create opportunities, but we must choose to step up to those opportunities.  Desire acknowledges the need for us to acquire new skills sets.  Desire acknowledges that we will need help, but that we need to pay others for their hard-won expertise.  Desire acknowledges that we must start where we are.

Desire works WITH the rules of third-dimensional reality, and thus helps us master the physical experience.

Check in with yourself:

Do you ever wish the world were different?  Do you ever wish “people” were different?  Do you ever wish that marketing, sales, and business worked differently, or that you could skip all that business-y stuff altogether?

Now compare these wishes with your greatest vision of your Soul Purpose.  Is your vision actually based on these wishes?  Is your vision ONLY available to you in a different world, with different people, and different marketing, sales, and business structures?  Then your vision may be based on delusion, not desire!

Whatever you desire IS available to you now, because desire is deeply rooted in reality.  But delusion, mistaken as desire, is guaranteed to create nothing but struggle, because it argues with the human experience.

There are really three types of money decisions we can make.  There are the decisions we make based on our past.  There are the choices we make based on where we are right now.  And then there are the financial decisions we make based on where we want to be.

If we’ve had a financial failure in the past – or even if we grew up in households where there was constant lack or financial fear – we may well find ourselves making decisions that have nothing to do with our present or future.  Instead, all of our financial decisions – saving money, investing money, spending money – are designed to keep us safe from repeating our past.  We constantly prepare for financial disaster.  We squirrel away money into savings, designed to keep us “safe.”  We stay in jobs.  Of course, this means our past is constantly in our present.  We allow the past to control us and shapesour lives today, even though … it’s over.

Most commonly, I find people make financial decisions based on where they are right now.  They contemplate an investment in themselves or their business and think about what they can afford right now.

That seems sensible, right?

We shouldn’t spend money we don’t have.  We shouldn’t live beyond our means.  We shouldn’t take too many risks with our finances.

Unfortunately, when we base our business investments on the money that we are making right now, our current income controls us.  We are governed in our choices by our present-day abundance level, or lack thereof.

How can these choices EVER make us more money than what we are currently making?

They can’t.

See, our choices either perpetuate our current state, or propel us towards a new state.

If our choices are to propel us forward into new circumstances, we can’t make them from where we are.

We have to make those choices from WHERE WE WANT TO BE.

We literally have to think to ourselves: “Would the person I want to be in a year hesitate to invest this money in their business?”

When we make a money decision from where we want to be, we make a commitment to our financial future, rather than allowing our financial present to control us.

I so often hear people say: “I really want to work with you, but I just can’t afford it right now.”

Of course not!  If you could actually afford to work with your mentor of choice, you wouldn’t actually NEED to work with your mentor of choice!

The best investments I have made in myself and my business – going all the way back to when I decided to put my massage therapy school tuition on my one credit card! – were about five times my monthly income.

In all cases, I didn’t actually HAVE the money.  But I was absolutely committed to leveraging my investment so that I would not only repay the debt I incurred, but create a huge return on my investment.

It’s worked every time so far.

I’m not advocating unconscious debt.  Unconscious debt is when we SPEND money that we don’t have, without a clue as to how we’ll repay that debt in the future.  When I was nineteen, I incurred a lot of unconscious debt … armed with my first credit card, and with no clear understanding of how credit cards even worked, I shopped to make myself feel better.  I shopped because I worked hard and I felt I deserved treats.  But I had no clue how I was going to get myself out of that debt!

Conscious debt, on the other hand, is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves.

Conscious debt is not money spent – it is money INVESTED, with an absolute commitment to ourselves to not only repay the debt, but gain a return on that investment.

Conscious debt often commits us to our goals and dreams like nothing else.  Conscious debt ensures that we actually implement what we learn … because we have to!

Money decisions made from the perspective of where we want to be burn the ships, lock the back door, leave us no way but forward.

It’s about absolute commitment.

Your money either controls you, or you control your money.

Whatever “good reasons” you may have for not fully embracing your Soul Purpose, not marketing yourself, not creating that next financial breakthrough, not increasing your rates, not having the time to invest in your business, not hiring support, not investing in a business coach or mentor … it all boils down to fear.

Here’s the two big fears that seem to be at the root of everything that holds us back:

1. Fear of failure.
2. Fear of what other people will think.

It always comes back to these two fears.

So let’s resolve these fears once and for all, shall we?

You really, really don’t need to allow these fears to stop you from achieving your heart’s desires.  You know why?

They are 100% guaranteed to happen.

Yes, these fears are absolutely going to become your reality.

You will fail.  Lots of times.  You’re going to make mistakes.  Some are going to be small and frustrating and known only to you.  Others are going to be highly public, and are going to cost you tons of time, money, and will probably be highly embarrassing to you.

I fail dozens of times each week.  From failing to render video into the appropriate format (that one falls into the small and frustrating category) to completely underestimating a training process (horribly time-consuming AND quite public), I fail constantly.

We all do.  Heck, if you’re on Ali Brown’s email list, you would have received an elaborate apology email just last week for some sort of debacle  that happened during one of her launches.  Business is full of failures.

And somehow, in spite of all these failures, we’re all still here. The world keeps turning, the sun keeps rising, and we learn to do it better next time.  You’re guaranteed to fail.  So we can take that off the list of things that are holding you back, right?  Because failure is an inevitable part of creating success.

Let’s tackle the fear that seems to paralyze so many of us – the fear of what other people will think.  Because we care so much about what other people will think, don’t we?

Well, I have more good news for you.

Tons of people won’t like you.  Many will think you’re crazy, under-qualified, won’t agree with what you teach, think of you as undeserving of your success, think of you as “competition,” think you charge too much, think you charge too little, think you over-deliver, think you under-deliver, think that you’re only in it for the money, see you as a fraud, or simply not like the way you talk, or dress, or style your hair.

People will judge you.  And if you reach out to enough people, you are sure to piss at least a few of them off in a big way.

It’s going to happen.  I guarantee it.

You are going to fail, and lots of people will think very negative things about you.

Neither will actually kill you.

You really have to ask yourself whether you want to do your Purpose badly enough.  Do you want it enough to accept that there will be failure, and people will judge you?

Perhaps you’re okay with sitting on your death bed, thinking to yourself: “Well, I didn’t accomplish what I wanted.  But at least I got here safely, and I didn’t piss too many people off along the way.”

My suggestion is that you go out and fail at something.  Seriously.  Make a total fool out of yourself, and while you’re at it, make people point and stare.  You just may find that you’ve set yourself free.

To your infinite abundance,
Andrrea
