Manifest Money Archives

There are really three types of money decisions we can make.  There are the decisions we make based on our past.  There are the choices we make based on where we are right now.  And then there are the financial decisions we make based on where we want to be.

If we’ve had a financial failure in the past – or even if we grew up in households where there was constant lack or financial fear – we may well find ourselves making decisions that have nothing to do with our present or future.  Instead, all of our financial decisions – saving money, investing money, spending money – are designed to keep us safe from repeating our past.  We constantly prepare for financial disaster.  We squirrel away money into savings, designed to keep us “safe.”  We stay in jobs.  Of course, this means our past is constantly in our present.  We allow the past to control us and shapesour lives today, even though … it’s over.

Most commonly, I find people make financial decisions based on where they are right now.  They contemplate an investment in themselves or their business and think about what they can afford right now.

That seems sensible, right?

We shouldn’t spend money we don’t have.  We shouldn’t live beyond our means.  We shouldn’t take too many risks with our finances.

Unfortunately, when we base our business investments on the money that we are making right now, our current income controls us.  We are governed in our choices by our present-day abundance level, or lack thereof.

How can these choices EVER make us more money than what we are currently making?

They can’t.

See, our choices either perpetuate our current state, or propel us towards a new state.

If our choices are to propel us forward into new circumstances, we can’t make them from where we are.

We have to make those choices from WHERE WE WANT TO BE.

We literally have to think to ourselves: “Would the person I want to be in a year hesitate to invest this money in their business?”

When we make a money decision from where we want to be, we make a commitment to our financial future, rather than allowing our financial present to control us.

I so often hear people say: “I really want to work with you, but I just can’t afford it right now.”

Of course not!  If you could actually afford to work with your mentor of choice, you wouldn’t actually NEED to work with your mentor of choice!

The best investments I have made in myself and my business – going all the way back to when I decided to put my massage therapy school tuition on my one credit card! – were about five times my monthly income.

In all cases, I didn’t actually HAVE the money.  But I was absolutely committed to leveraging my investment so that I would not only repay the debt I incurred, but create a huge return on my investment.

It’s worked every time so far.

I’m not advocating unconscious debt.  Unconscious debt is when we SPEND money that we don’t have, without a clue as to how we’ll repay that debt in the future.  When I was nineteen, I incurred a lot of unconscious debt … armed with my first credit card, and with no clear understanding of how credit cards even worked, I shopped to make myself feel better.  I shopped because I worked hard and I felt I deserved treats.  But I had no clue how I was going to get myself out of that debt!

Conscious debt, on the other hand, is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves.

Conscious debt is not money spent – it is money INVESTED, with an absolute commitment to ourselves to not only repay the debt, but gain a return on that investment.

Conscious debt often commits us to our goals and dreams like nothing else.  Conscious debt ensures that we actually implement what we learn … because we have to!

Money decisions made from the perspective of where we want to be burn the ships, lock the back door, leave us no way but forward.

It’s about absolute commitment.

Your money either controls you, or you control your money.

Whatever “good reasons” you may have for not fully embracing your Soul Purpose, not marketing yourself, not creating that next financial breakthrough, not increasing your rates, not having the time to invest in your business, not hiring support, not investing in a business coach or mentor … it all boils down to fear.

Here’s the two big fears that seem to be at the root of everything that holds us back:

1. Fear of failure.
2. Fear of what other people will think.

It always comes back to these two fears.

So let’s resolve these fears once and for all, shall we?

You really, really don’t need to allow these fears to stop you from achieving your heart’s desires.  You know why?

They are 100% guaranteed to happen.

Yes, these fears are absolutely going to become your reality.

You will fail.  Lots of times.  You’re going to make mistakes.  Some are going to be small and frustrating and known only to you.  Others are going to be highly public, and are going to cost you tons of time, money, and will probably be highly embarrassing to you.

I fail dozens of times each week.  From failing to render video into the appropriate format (that one falls into the small and frustrating category) to completely underestimating a training process (horribly time-consuming AND quite public), I fail constantly.

We all do.  Heck, if you’re on Ali Brown’s email list, you would have received an elaborate apology email just last week for some sort of debacle  that happened during one of her launches.  Business is full of failures.

And somehow, in spite of all these failures, we’re all still here. The world keeps turning, the sun keeps rising, and we learn to do it better next time.  You’re guaranteed to fail.  So we can take that off the list of things that are holding you back, right?  Because failure is an inevitable part of creating success.

Let’s tackle the fear that seems to paralyze so many of us – the fear of what other people will think.  Because we care so much about what other people will think, don’t we?

Well, I have more good news for you.

Tons of people won’t like you.  Many will think you’re crazy, under-qualified, won’t agree with what you teach, think of you as undeserving of your success, think of you as “competition,” think you charge too much, think you charge too little, think you over-deliver, think you under-deliver, think that you’re only in it for the money, see you as a fraud, or simply not like the way you talk, or dress, or style your hair.

People will judge you.  And if you reach out to enough people, you are sure to piss at least a few of them off in a big way.

It’s going to happen.  I guarantee it.

You are going to fail, and lots of people will think very negative things about you.

Neither will actually kill you.

You really have to ask yourself whether you want to do your Purpose badly enough.  Do you want it enough to accept that there will be failure, and people will judge you?

Perhaps you’re okay with sitting on your death bed, thinking to yourself: “Well, I didn’t accomplish what I wanted.  But at least I got here safely, and I didn’t piss too many people off along the way.”

My suggestion is that you go out and fail at something.  Seriously.  Make a total fool out of yourself, and while you’re at it, make people point and stare.  You just may find that you’ve set yourself free.

Ready to manifest like never before?  Join me on Saturday, August 25th for my new free training call, The Three Truths of Manifesting.

I am always amazed that people try to “manifest” things like getting their book finished, or pray for consistent action-taking in their business.  After all, the Universe can’t finish our book for us.  God can’t “make us” take action in our business.  That’s just something we DO – or not.

The Universe can only treat us the way we treat ourselves.

If we truly take the perspective that we are Creators, that we are, through our origin of Divine Source, the Source of all of our circumstances, and that we are Divine Beings … then we can’t exactly expect an outside “greater” force than ourselves to come to our rescue, to do on our behalf what we have not been willing to do for ourselves.

That would interfere with our free will, wouldn’t it?  And free will is the very thing that MAKES us Creators.  And so, if God, the Universe, Source, a Higher Power did indeed intercede on our behalf, our Divinity would become invalid.

God cannot value us more than we value ourselves, because we ARE God.

God cannot give us more determination than we are willing to direct towards our goals, because we ARE God.

God cannot cause us to take action on opportunity when we’re afraid, because we ARE God.

In other words, there is no outside force that can intercede on your behalf unless you are willing to first intercede on your OWN behalf.  As soon as you act as the powerful Creator that you are, creation can support you.  But until you exert your power, all power lies dormant as mere potential.

When we transcend our own fear, reluctance, discomfort, and step out into the unknown because we are willing to give ourselves what we want most …. only then do miracles of manifestation happen.

We have to jump off the cliff, willing to experience flight before the Universe can affirm that we can, indeed, fly.

We can watch other people fly, to help us believe in the possibility of flight.

We can learn all about flying, through books and information products and teachers.

It’s not the same as actually flying.

We can spend a lot of time walking along that cliff, looking for the safest place to jump from, educating ourselves, preparing for flight, preparing to jump, but pulling back in fear time and again, only to go to the next teacher, the next class, the next flying tactic.

And we can pray, and intend, and pray some more for the Universe to finally swoop in, and, when we’re conveniently unaware, shove us off that cliff.  Because we can’t find it within ourselves to take the leap.  And it would be nice if the Universe then also proved to us that we could fly.

It doesn’t work that way.

If God and the Universe shoved us off the cliff, that would constitute interference with our free will, which is the very means by which we are Divine.  It would be God, invalidating itself through its own existence, since we ARE God.

It is deciding that we are worth jumping off the cliff that also gives us the ability to fly.

If you are asking an outside “Higher Power” to do what you are not willing to do for yourself, you are creating a conflict between yourself and Universal Law.  And that conflict will always manifest itself as struggle.  You are, ultimately, the highest power in your life.  Your choices are made manifest, no matter what.

If you truly saw yourself as Divine, how would you treat yourself?

How would you value your Gifts?  How would you support your desires?

Are you asking or praying for the Universe to do what you are not willing to do for yourself?

To your infinite Divine nature,
Andrrea

At least once a week, I receive an email from a client or student who is convinced there’s something deeply “wrong” with them. The reason for their concern? They are terrified of moving forward and it’s stopping them from taking action in their business.

I have to be brutally honest here. There’s nothing wrong. Being absolutely terrified is a completely normal part of the journey.  I’m not talking discomfort – I’m talking debilitating fear that takes our breath away.

Here are the normal issues we encounter as expanding entrepreneurs – and I am not exaggerating!

The thought of sending out a marketing email has us curl up in the fetal position, unable to move.

The idea of picking up the phone makes us crawl back into bed and pull the covers up over our heads.

We wake up at two in the morning, our minds racing, the fear of failure so much greater than the desire for success.

Bouts of crying, anger, and desperation arise at least once a week, twice if you’re really going for it.

This is normal, folks. Being petrified doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you. It just means you’re an entrepreneur who is increasing their income. In fact, if you’re feeling good and comfortable all the time, you’re probably not growing your business. You’re probably busy, but not productive.

Most people actually invest most of their money and energy avoiding the terror barrier – by taking more classes, by doing research, by shopping for yet another teacher or mentor or marketing method, by doing a bunch of networking with a lot of other people also successfully avoiding the terror barrier.

Being busy is a great way to avoid the terror. It just doesn’t make us any money.

I promise that I have spent my share of nights on my couch in tears, wondering why I do what I do.

I don’t want to sugar-coat what you’re in for if you want to create a thriving, financially abundant business. There are going to be times when you feel like crap. And if you’re really going for expansion, you’re going to have days when you absolutely hate your life.

I know, I know. This is not what you want to hear. Everyone just wants to feel GOOD. And all of us spiritual folks think that any negativity indicates that we are not on our most Divine path. It’s not true.

There’s a reason not everyone creates a successful business, even though they want one, even though they are talented, intelligent people with great gifts to share.

It’s hard.

If it were easy, everyone who wants to create money in their own business would be doing it successfully.

But it’s not impossible. If it were impossible, then NO-ONE would be doing it.

The question is … do you want it badly enough?

I promise there’s no way to avoid the fear. There’s no way to avoid squirming in your own skin, your mind racing to find yet another way to reasonably procrastinate, to avoid doing what’s necessary to create the money you want … and then having enough drive, discipline, and desire to DO IT ANYWAY.

There’s a reason most people have a job.

As entrepreneurs, we don’t go through the terror barrier just once. We have to do it again. And again. Every single time we expand, the fear is there.

It’s not for everyone. You have to really, really, really want it.

There’s a few things that help.

The first is having a community of people who are as determined as you are, who are willing to face their fear, and do what’s necessary to create results no matter what.

They can be hard to come by. Let’s face it, when our spouse or our friends or our parents see us miserable and terrified, they are highly unlikely to do what we need most. They are highly unlikely to tell us we’re NOT going to die, to suck it up and just do what needs to be done. No, they tend to try and make us feel better. They give us great excuses not to take action. They tell us to put our feet up, to take a break, to have a glass of wine, to relax.

It’s bad advice. What gets us through the fear is action.

The second is a mentor or coach who holds our feet to the fire and reminds us of the big picture, the greater goal … because in the middle of a fear storm, all we can see is our own discomfort.

The third is constantly reminding ourselves of what actions are necessary to create income. It’s so easy for our minds to come up with good excuses to do anything BUT that which scares us so much! This means constantly studying – not as a way to avoid taking action, but to remind us of the necessity of implementation.

But let’s not try to avoid the fear. The fear doesn’t mean there’s anything “wrong” with you. It just means that your humanity is terrified of your Divinity. That’s all.

I promise that you will NOT DIE as a result of increasing your income. You won’t get burned at the stake, drowned in a river, or stoned to death. I also promise you that no amount of energy clearing, past-life regression, tapping, or any other modality will take away the terror barrier.

The fear is just a part of being human. And if you’re looking to ground your Divinity into your humanity – well, you just have to be willing to deal with it.

Are you willing?

Here’s the thing about manifesting money.  You can’t fake out the Universe!

When I work with clients and students on manifesting financial abundance, we frequently discover that what they think and say they want to manifest is not really what they want at all.

The question: “What do you really want?” is possibly one of the hardest we ever have to answer.  No-one can answer it for us.  And the answer constantly changes!

Maybe it’s because we spend an awful lot of time surrendering what we really want to the school system, to our employers, to our own families.  We grow up learning to adapt.  No wonder it’s hard to claim the Truth of our desires once we’re free to do so.

Here’s a list of what we frequently try to manifest, instead of what we really want:

1. What we think we can have

This one comes up a lot in my calls on the Divine Abundance Mentoring Circle.  Instead of claiming the financial abundance we really want, we “settle” in our intentions for something more “attainable.”  Of course, the attainable, safe dollar amount we choose doesn’t stir our passions, doesn’t excite us, and inevitably creates inaction.

2. What we think we should want

Just because a certain goal is upheld by our society, our family, or our peer group as desirable, doesn’t mean WE really want it!  Maybe the business or income stream we want is highly unconventional.  Maybe what we want to do with our financial abundance is unusual!  I happen to know one successful entrepreneur who is currently building three volcanoes in his backyard.  Really.  After all, we’re creating money so we can have the lifestyle we really want … not the one that society prescribes for us.

3. What other people want

Your spouse may want to pay off the mortgage and tuck your extra income away in your retirement account – but is that what you really want?  Everyone in your family will have different ideas of how they would spend or invest the additional income you manifest – but YOU are the manifestor!  And if there’s someone who expects your financial assistance once you finally get your business rolling … you may well sabotage your own manifesting process.

4. The unnecessary “interim” solution

It’s funny how often we know what we want … and instead of manifesting our desired outcome, we create a series of “interim” steps that we have to manifest FIRST.  For example, we may want to focus on manifesting money, but we tell ourselves that first we have to improve our health.  So, before we can get to work on manifesting money, we tell ourselves we have to implement an exercise regimen.  But we’re not really as excited about manifesting health as we are about manifesting money … and so we don’t follow through.  Which is a really great way to keep us out of financial abundance!

This focus on interim goals is at times much less obvious and sneaky.  In your business, you may feel you have to take additional steps, create additional programs, put infrastructure in place, hire a team … all of which MIGHT be necessary.  But perhaps not!  The idea that what we really want might be available NOW scares many of us.  So much so that we delay manifesting our true desires with sensible, well-rationalized “interim” goals we must accomplish first.

5. The Universe To the Rescue

Sometimes our minds really, really want to magically manifest some miraculous, happy circumstance that instantly solves whatever problems we’ve created for ourselves.  You know – the fantasy where we manifest big lump sums of cash from some unexpected source!

While the ego may love the idea of the Universe coming to our rescue, your Soul isn’t going to play along on this one!  Remember that in order to manifest what “we want,” our Higher Self has to be on board, too.

Your Soul is here to experience itself as a powerful Divine Creator and to fully appreciate the process of choice and consequence.  That means we create what we want – it doesn’t happen “to” us.  Even if, at the level of ego, we wish it would!

It takes ALL of our Being to manifest what we want.  If any part of us isn’t fully on board, we will not create results.

So – what do you REALLY want?

To your infinite abundance,
Andrrea
