How To Develop Your Intuition Archives

We’re all committed to growing and evolving, to consistently up-leveling how we show up in the world. We might want to step further into our Soul’s Purpose, expand how we serve others, and up-level our income – and frequently, all of the above.

When we set the intention to up-level ourselves in any way, an opportunity usually appears. After all, the Universe responds to our intention! We decide to step up, and so the next step up must appear.

Frequently, we dismiss the opportunity that the Universe sends our way.

We dismiss it because, invariably, the opportunity will be highly inconvenient for us.

For example, I recently exchanged readings with my friend and Astro-Numerologist Tania Gabrielle.

I have some very clear intentions for what’s next for me in stepping up in my business and my Soul Purpose this year! And I know Tania is brilliant at what she does, so I couldn’t wait to work with her.

My first clue that something big was coming my way was that I screwed up my calendar and our appointment time – not just once, but TWICE. This, in itself, is not like me.

Then Tania strongly recommended that I change the spelling of my first name, from “Andrea” to “Andrrea” with two rr’s in order to change the vibrational resonance of my name.

Oh no.

Of all the things I did NOT want to do, changing my name was probably near the top of my list.

But you know what? When I wrote my new name out as “Andrrea Hess” for the first time, the energy hit me so strongly that I started to laugh AND cry. Tania couldn’t figure out what the heck I was saying for a few minutes!

There was no question in that moment that up-leveling meant changing my name.

It’s not a convenient thing to do. I don’t want to deal with the paperwork. It’s a tremendous hassle, given how many different web pages my name is on.

I’m going to do it, anyway.

A vibrational up-level is always going to be inconvenient. It’s going to involve a ridiculous and annoying amount of effort. It’s going to involve doing things you’re not comfortable with, things you’ve never done before. There’s going to be a steep learning curve, and we’re bound to fall on our face a few times.

If we’re going to up-level who we are as energetic Beings, this is part of the package.

Up-leveling is NEVER comfortable.

If you’re looking for your next step up – financially, purposefully, spiritually – look for the thing that is really, really uncomfortable. And highly inconvenient. And probably the thing you’ve been resisting the most.

Most likely, the key to your expansion is where you really don’t want it to be.

To your infinite abundance,
Andrrea

An interesting phenomenon came up when I was on the phone with a client yesterday. I call it “adaptive modulation” and it can really undermine our manifesting process.

We all have the ability to shift our vibrational state in an instant. We do it all the time. Just close your eyes, imagine you’re sitting on a beautiful beach, sipping something with an umbrella in it, listening to the waves, feeling the sun on your skin …. aaaaah. See, you just shifted your vibrational state.

This ability to shift, to modulate our energy is what makes us the powerful Creators of our experience.

It can also work against us.

Specifically, it works against us when we modulate our vibrational patterns in order to accommodate other people. In other words, we ADAPT our energy in a reactive way around certain people, rather than standing in our authentic vibrational state.

When do we do this? Well, have you ever gone to visit your parents, only to find that you suddenly become like the twelve-year-old you once were? Have you ever downshifted your excitement about good news because the friend you were talking to was having a hard time?

Adaptive modulation happens unconsciously and often chronically. We just don’t stand in our authentic vibrational state around some people – we may actually lower our vibration whenever we’re around them, power ourselves down to seem less threatening or intimidating, or we simply don’t energize some of our vibrational spectrum because it makes someone else feel uncomfortable.

Why does this undermine our manifesting processes?

We are like radio stations, constantly emitting our energetic signature and attracting corresponding results.

When we modulate our vibrational state, we shift our energetic signature and start attracting new results. Now, if we do this on a daily basis (or even more frequently!) what are we doing? We are mucking up the clarity of our energetic signature. We may even be sending out conflicting vibrational states into the Universe! As a result, we manifest … well, not much!

Are you shifting your vibrational state depending on who you are interacting with? What if you stood authentically in your highest vibrational state, no matter what?

Blessings,

Andrea

The question I seem to get most often these days is: “Andrea, I have a huge vision of my purpose in this lifetime. But I don’t know how to get there! Where do I even start?”

Highly conscious seekers everywhere are feeling the discomfort of what I call “the gap.” It’s the gap between who you are as an incredibly Divine, abundantly gifted spiritual Being … and the actual practical application of your Divine purpose into your human experience.

It’s possible to develop your consciousness to a very high level through spiritual development practice. Meditation, healing work, the conscious application of the Law of Attraction – all of these give you insight to your Divine nature and your purpose. You become inspired with a vision of how much you are truly capable. You may have a dream of how you’d love to serve the world and make a living. But if you have not yet acted on that vision and begun doing your purpose through your work in the world, you may find yourself increasingly uncomfortable … because your actual, physical reality is nowhere close to that vision! And through your continued spiritual development work, your vision just seems to get bigger!

The pressure of the gap between where you are right now and the vision of your purpose can weigh heavily on you. It might be discouraging to think of how far you’d have to come, how much you’d have to accomplish, in order to truly live your purpose. And so you might go into “seeker mode.” You look for the modality, the training program, the manifesting method that will get you “there” – preferably quickly! And if you can’t see how one path or another could possibly lead to your grand vision, you continue looking and searching and seeking. In the meantime, you get more and more uncomfortable.

I know only one way to step out of the discomfort of the gap.

Just start.

Pick a path – any path! The truth is, the quickest way to get to the grandest vision of your purpose is to simply take the next available step. Even if you’re not sure how that one step will lead you to the road you wish to travel, you are still going to get a LOT closer than if you’re standing still.

We are not here to “know” exactly how to live our purpose. We are here to EXPERIENCE ourselves in the unfolding of our Divinity into our humanity. Knowing how to do so comes out of the experience of the journey. Every step on any path teaches us more about how to live our purpose. In each step, we discover how to align – or how not to align – to our most Divine selves.

Trying to figure out the path before taking a single step means short-changing ourselves of this discovery process … and the gap grows, as does the discomfort.

The first baby step you take is going to seem dissatisfying compared to the grand vision of your Divine purpose. That’s okay – it will still take you closer than where you are right now. The second step will be more satisfying, and easier to take. The third step will have you feeling braver, more sure of yourself. Each step becomes more satisfying.

None of this happens without that first step.

If you’re in the discomfort of the gap – just start.

Blessings,
Andrea

Every one of our life circumstances is a reflection of our inner state of Being. So it’s not surprising that incredible amounts of insight can be gained just by looking around our physical space!

Have a look at your current environment, just as it is right now. Your entire surroundings are reflecting your inner state of Being back to you, just as you are right now. I had tremendous fun doing this exercise this morning, contemplating the several boxes that, two months after moving, are somehow still sitting around upstairs. Here’s what I discovered:

Boxes that are open but not yet unpacked. Meaning: I’m almost ready to settle down after a year of whirlwind changes in life and business … but not quite. And since I’m tolerating the boxes with a surprising amount of equanimity, I must be willing to wait on settling down until I’ve created exactly what I want.

A bookshelf in mid-assembly. Meaning: I’m creating supportive structures. I have the concept and I’m in the process of implementing … but it’s not all built yet. It’s amazing how true this is for my business right now!

Everything is really, really clean. (I’m not a neat-freak … my housekeeper was here today. I’m still taking credit for the cleanliness!) Meaning: I am clear on what I want. No negative energy is interfering with my process.

There are disorganized places all over … in closets, on my desk, etc. Meaning: While I’m clear on what I want, I’m not sure yet where or how everything fits in! So true …

I have a surprising amount of water glasses everywhere! Meaning: Hmm. I’m going to take it as a nudge from myself to drink more water!

We can gain a stunning amount of insight into ourselves from our surroundings. If our space is disorganized, are our thoughts and plans in disarray also? If we’re constantly picking stuff up off the floor, are we dropping the ball somewhere in our lives … or feeling that way? If we have too much stuff and our closets are overflowing, have we outgrown other circumstances, such as a relationship or job?

Don’t second-guess your initial interpretations! You are trying to tell yourself something through your physical surroundings … and you are not going to be cryptic with yourself.

We create all the time, consciously or unconsciously. We do this so that we can experience ourselves though our creations in new ways – even if that creation is just the state of our home.

Can you “read” your space? What is your environment reflecting back to you?

Blessings,
Andrea

With clarity of intention, we can begin looking at everything that shows up in our lives as perfect. By setting our intentions, we have announced our desired outcome to the Universe. Now everything is set in motion so that this desired outcome can manifest itself into our lives.

Sometimes, what shows up is drama and upheaval. Announcing our clear intention causes everything in our lives that is misaligned with that intention to show up in a big way, so that these vibrations can be addressed. Anything that needs to be healed, to be shifted, or to be cleared will make itself known. Anything that does not serve us in manifesting our intention needs to make room for new energies that help us create what we want.

Perhaps you’ve had the experience of complete clarity, a moment where you knew without a shred of doubt what you were going to create. Perhaps in that moment you boldly announced your desires to the Universe. And perhaps, everything suddenly seemed to fall apart! A few months later, you catch your breath in awe. You realize that somehow, out of drama and change, ups and downs, you have created exactly what you wanted! And you are no longer the same Being. Everything is different, all because you announced your intention.

While big intentions might take us for a wild ride of transformation, suffering is entirely optional within this process. Suffering happens when we resist our own creative process, when we suddenly want to dictate to the Universe “how” our intentions “should be” made manifest. Instead, we can recognize that, while we may not know how it’s all going to come together in the end, everything is showing up to serve us in creating exactly what we want.

If we are clear in our intentions, every experience that shows up is perfect. If it were not perfect, it would simply not be able to show up! With this perspective, we can resist judging each experience as “good” or “bad” as we are having it. In the middle of transformation and change, we cannot possibly know how events serve our greater desired outcome. The most disastrous mishaps can turn out to be our greatest gifts. Seeming failures turn into exactly the lessons we need to create huge success. Loss creates space for what we truly want.

Everything is perfect.

Blessings,

Andrea
