  1. Slade | Shift Your Spirits Says:

    Andrea,
One of your greatest strengths as a teacher and writer is your gift for re-framing questions into statements of intentions — I’ve found your advice on asking better questions (especially from your book Unlock Your Intuition) to be truly insightful and practical.

But, I must tell you, today’s A-ha moment for me, reading this post, is this little gem:
“Our Soul has a purpose, which is not about what we do, but which energetic qualities we express through our actions and choices. It is about who we are being while we are doing.”

Oh, that’s good. That’s REALLY good.

Thank you for bringing that message through.

  2. Suzanne Bird-Harris | Learning Curve Coaching Says:

    Andrea,

While I agree with Slade’s comment (that message is TRULY important, and I thank you, too, for bringing it out!), what really jumps out at me is: ‘The right time is always now. If not, then it simply isn’t the right time!’

Amen! And what a relief to fully realize that! No more pushing ropes, forcing solutions, or any other nonsense that leaves me frustrated and feeling ineffective. If it’s a right action, then I can be patient until the right time (which, like you say, is always now) comes.

Thanks to you, your book, and your 7Keys class, I am getting much better at ‘listening’, for one thing, and discerning (while trusting my ‘gut’) the difference between my Higher Self and Spirit Guides and that bossy ol’ ego of mine, for another. :) It’s getting easier and easier to tell which of the equation (right action or right time, or both!) is ‘off’ and to understand that I can ask for guidance on either, or, or both, as well! Connecting to this part of me (my Higher Self and my Spirit Guides) is giving me such a growing sense of peace and calm - I can’t thank you enough!

Slade - Thank you so much, that means a lot to me, coming from you! And I’m glad that the “little gem” generated an a-ha moment … I sometimes worry that I sound a little too much like a fortune cookie! :-)

Suzanne - You have officially made my day!!!! I am so thrilled the book and class are making a difference for you! But most of all, I applaud your willingness to dedicate your awareness and focus to developing your own intuitive resources!! You’re doing all the work, you know. Hurray for peace and calm - YOU are creating that! Woohoo!!!

    Blessings,
    Andrea

  4. Tom Volkar / Delightful Work Says:

    Andrea,

I’ll jump in with my favorite quote from your post. “Authentic self-expression means that our actions let the qualities inherent to our Higher Self shine through.” Thank you for this. It makes me ven bolder. This is what I call inspired. When I’m fired up about taking action it’s right, no doubt. I agree with what Kay said on my Inspired Massive Action post. We aren’t saying things that are that much different at all.

You said …”Finally, actions that support our spiritual growth will teach us through their consequences. That means that right action can sometimes look like making a mistake, if we need to learn a lesson from that mistake. Right action can even look like making the same mistake a few times in a row, if necessary! Right action can create new learning, new ideas, new impulses, new expansion. Eventually, right action leads us into a new state of being.” That’s very much the same thing I said when I wrote …. “Massive also gives us the space to be creative and to put a variety of methods, approaches and actions in play. Like the prospector who pans for gold, has a sluice running and a mine, by leveraging the sheer number and variety of actions, we increase the probability of striking it rich. Staking multiple claims increases our options when adjustments are needed - and gives us an overall feeling of command.”

I really do think we are on the same page if you are saying that an action can still be “right” even when it doesn’t lead to the intended result. Good stuff here - excellent food for thought!

    Tom

  5. Andrea Hess Says:

Hi Tom - Absolutely. “Right” action can lead to a result other than what we expected …. at the same time, it may contribute to an intended outcome in a way we’ll only recognize in hindsight. You know how it is - often we can only appreciate the chain of events when we have the bigger perspective. When we’re in the middle of things, it can be hard to see the forest for the trees!

But what I was getting at is that a single action can be just as effective as “massive” action - which I’m interpreting as doing ten things in a fairly intense period of time, right? If the gold is only in the mine, why spend time and energy panning and sluicing for it? I think our intuition can save us tons of effort by guiding us towards a single inspired action that yields the same results (especially energetically) as ten actions.

Now I’m going to have to check out what Kay said on your blog. Hee hee. Can’t wait for you to have a “subscribe to comments” function, then we can really get into some fun discussions. I do enjoy different points of view, and I so appreciate you checking out this article and commenting here!

    Blessings,
    Andrea

[…] my last post, I wrote about the value of “right action” at the “right time.” Moving with […]

  7. Liara Covert Says:

Learning to discern our own individual sense of intuition is as important as learning not to question it. For many people, this is a journey of self-discovery which takes them through experiences that shape who they are.

  8. Victoria Says:

“If the gold is only in the mine, why spend time and energy panning and sluicing for it?”……Gee…if I keep that one line from all this, I have a winner, and that is from Your comments!!
This post is on target for me, right now, today. I have a Sweetie, who is making a long trip, on motorcycle, this fall. He wants me to go with him. I want to go with him. Yet, this long trip, on a bike, for days, brings me into so much fear. “What if my butt and back cannot handle it, What if we wreck, What if …..”
This is just one of the kind of things I “wrestle” with in my life. A move, to a isolated area, just over a year ago, brought up the same kinds of things in my mind. I did make the move and have had many issues with it every since.
Ok, my point, with the move, I felt I should not do it. I did it anyway, I knew Sweetie wanted to, I wanted to be with Sweetie. Now, I have a similar situation and am not sure whether it is my G&G’s saying, “dont go” or my fears tugging on me.
Right Action, right now, is what I feel I need because the trip is being planned, with others, and I have been a part of the planning. Yesterday I told Sweetie I am pulling out because of all my feelings about it. Today I do not know what to do.
So………this article, points me back inside to G&G’s and best I quit writing and start asking Them some questions and listening for some replies.
Oh,….I had such an experience about a month ago with my G&G’s that I almost felt drugged. They were so clear and talkative and showed me moving pictures and such. Anyone else have anything so vivid happen to them after asking for guidance from their Guides????

  9. Pat R Says:

Sorry for coming late - catching up on tons of e-mails. This is good. Everything we do in the course of our lives takes some type of action (even if it’s choosing not to act). This is key in asking for direction from our guides to be inspired to take the right action at the right time. It involves every moment in every day down to choosing what thoughts to act on and which ones to pass up.

I love this and will have to put it to use. Thank you Andrea.
