I know this video has the best of intentions, and I’m sure therefore the best of outcomes.
However, does it seem to anyone else that some of the myriad “natural remedies” under their many guises (see video for a large list) are just a redirection into the same mindset that “regular medicine” is in?
I appreciate that people are looking for alternatives from a system that doesn’t resonate with them, but at times the alternatives seem just as complicated and problematic as the very system they attempt to get away from.
The beginning of this video recognizes the body and mind’s innate capacity to heal, but then quickly diverges from that into all of the techniques (not unlike regular medicine) that instead are designed to “heal it”. Perhaps the full video, however, is more all-encompassing than this preview.
Andrea, please do not hesitate to delete this comment if you feel it does not match the focus or intent of the post. All the best.
Ryan - no way am I deleting your comment! I appreciate your perspective, actually.
I think that many alternative modalities are designed to reawaken our awareness of our own healing capabilities - they facilitate, rather than “fix.” When we’re unaware (at the physical, mental, or emotional level) that we have the power to heal ourselves, sometimes we need a little wake-up call to the system, so that our healing abilities can get rolling. At least, that’s the way I see it.
When I think of Soul Realignment, anyone can practice it at any time. What’s usually the “missing ingredient” is a level of consciousness that we can practice energy clearing. That, I think, is what needs to come back into our general awareness.
I agree with you, though, to some degree. There are definitely practitioners in ALL fields, alternative and traditional, that seem to think it’s their job to “heal” or “fix” people. I tend to run far, far away from those …
Thank you Andrea and Ryan!
I agree completely with both of you! What I have found, is that many people still need someone to facilitate their awakening process, so that they can fully embrace the healing power of the body. And, there are so many ways to do this. Eventually, we will all just vibrate ourselves into a state of perfect health and harmony, but that will take some spiritual evolution to achieve. My hope is that the people that need guidance to find their way will find it, and that this movie may lead them to something that may be the key to experiencing the power of their own body. I think of it as a stepping stone to awakening people who are limited by their perspective of their own power, the same way I was. I no longer depend on the modality that got me out of my dark place, but I am forever grateful that it kickstarted my belief in myself. Thank you so much for your comments! I’m looking forward to many more!
With the perspective of someone who lives with the label of “terminal illness,” I can attest to the fact that there is so much more going on with medicine, health, and well-being than is apparent in any one system.
As with any formula for living the best life you possibly can, the “missing ingredients” aren’t the ingredients, the modalities, or the tools, but the unique way that you personally — consciously and willfully and creatively — command all the available options.
It’s a subject I’ve only seemed to touch on with my article on Spiritual Healing — but, on a higher level, everything I write about spiritual development and empowerment ultimately relates and applies to this more specific context.
Wellness — physical, spiritual, emotional — is an overarching symphony of elements — and you are the director. The harmonies of energy are harmonies, and they work on whole systems through the power of synergy…
Does anyone try to heal yourself by pure intention? Lately, It works for me pretty good so far. Your body does know how to heal itself.
Well, I suppose it works for some. A new alternative. I am going to try this out!
Candice - it’s your movie, so feel free to chime in here and respond to comments!
Slade - thank you for this beautifully stated comment. I love the comparison of wellness to a symphony.
Tuan - I think it’s possible, if our belief system allows. I do think, however, there are many limiting programs buried very deeply in collective consciousness that do play a role when we try to heal only through intention. I think most of us need some supporting action to really believe in our own healing process. And sometimes we do need someone else’s help to recover our own knowledge of the energies and vibrations that we need to tap into in order to heal.
Sham - I’m glad this is going to be an area of exploration for you!
Blessings,
Andrea
I appreciate all the comments on this one because many reflect my personal experience. I especially appreciate Slade’s comment about us being the director of various healing harmonies. I must admit that my personal experience with alternative healing has been mixed at best. But at the very least I can say that I’ve always felt more relaxed after engaging a healer. Also mixed is better results than I’ve gotten overall from pharmaceuticals.
Perhaps the missing ingredient has been my awareness that I’m the one directing the healing.
Thank you for this insight.
Not long ago and still in places today, gurus were easy to find. It is not so common to be inspired or awakened when visiting the hospital or your local bank. What I finding more and more, is these natural health practitioners and life coaches are becoming the modern guru. People are going to them, not to be healed, but for hope, to once again believe in the power of their body to heal itself, for direction, and for guidance. Their disconnection from spirit(the power within/God/their true self) is often why their consciousness has manifested their Dis-Ease. They may think they are being healed, but the energy of the work that is being done somehow ignights that part of them that always knew only health and happiness and abundance, and they end up healing themselves. Eventually, these people will own their power and become that for someone else. It is the process of awakening through health, which I fiind very exciting because we are moving past the rote applications of medicine from the past. Many natural treatments will reveal emotional, enviromental, and traumatic inbalances that can even be addressed or released without needing to drag the client through the trauma of it all again too. I think the evolution of healthcare will continually expand, and as natural medicine is embraced, it will again expand into more intuitive work and spontaneous healings. Still today, many people find energy work and natural medicine too esoteric for them, and my hopes with this movie is to provide good information to showcase this shift in medicine, provide more choices (for many people don’t know where to turn), and most importantly facilitate their awakening to the power within them so that they may join us on an empowered journey of conscoius co-creation.
Tom,
I’m really glad that my comment impacted your perspective in a positive way. Thank you for saying so. It means a lot to me.
A few years ago when I learned Reiki and started using it, I had some business cards printed out. I can’t tell you where I read the words but they deeply resonated with me so I had them put at the bottom of my cards. It says, “It Is Not I, But The Christ Within Who Does The Work.” It says what I have felt for years. We are our own healers rather than giving our power away to anyone else. The Christ Within is not just the one in me but the one in you too.
A healer friend of mine did a talk at a neighborhood church that I visited on Sunday. In his talk, he says the Church is who made us sick because the Church teaches that we are imperfect and we believed them. He said, to God, we are all perfect and when we remember that then illness leaves. The idea makes sense to me.
In the past few years, I have turned more and more to alternative medicines because the doctors weren’t helping. It doesn’t help that my body has become allergic to all forms of antibiotics. I have a list of 5 antibiotics that I have become allergic to over the past 20 years. My pharmacist told my husband recently that one of those 5 drugs is in every antibiotic on the market right now. I also believe that we should be able to heal ourselves without all of these pills. I use herbs as much as possible. I also use Reiki and EFT and am looking at Pranic Healing.
Something that I have refused to do for the past 5 years is to take medications that I consider too expensive. If more people would tell the doctors and the drug companies “NO” then the price of medicines would be reasonable. As long as we will pay, they will keep increasing the price. My pharmacist now tells me the price of a medicine before he fills it for me.
Thank you Patricia!
How wonderful that you innately tapped into that wisdom with Reiki! It took me a while to discover that I was not doing the healing and my practitioners were also not doing it for me. It was something greater, that Christ consciousness that you spoke of.
And, I agree that churches/religious did muck a few things up. But how fantastic that your friend did a talk there, and that many churches are opening up to spirituality…and moving beyond the dogma. It is interesting that Christ actually means enlightened, and through Christ is our salvation… which really relates to “through our our enlightenment we are saved”.
It is also wonderful that you have found some natural solutions to replace the costly medications. If meds were inexpensive, and maintained the problems; people may not seek the power within the body, or even have a need to find it. I wonder if medications becoming costly paired with their dangerous side effects are part of the universe’s plan to deter us from relying on something/someone else, to searching for more empowering options. Perhaps is all a plan of the great universe to guide us to seek empowerment of the self. I am delighted that you are delving into natural healing like EFT, Reiki, Herbs and Prana. May they all help to unlock the power within you.
As someone who healed myself from chronic fatigue using energy medicine, (homeopathy, EAV, tapping, Reiki, prayer etc) I can attest to the power of spirit moving through the physical. The twelve year journey took me through a complete transformation. Although I am not completely physically well, I am healed. As my mentor and once mentioned, …”As healers we can show people the way, but none of us will get out of here alive…..Lets heal our spirits regardless of our physical health…” (paraphrased). Energy medicine can help us attain healing in the spirit.
I agree with Rayn that the alternatives can be complicated. Energy medicine, alternative medicine etc is partly about taking personal
responsibility and making choices. There is so much out there, (and not all of the practitioners are good at what they do), that I always recommend that you sit with a potential healing modality in your heart and feel if it has the potential to serve you. Each of us is different and will respond slightly differently. Alternative medicine can help you find the best way for you.
Thanks for the movie clip and post.
