Living A Divinely Guided Life
What does it mean to live through Divine guidance?
First we have to recognize that Divine guidance doesn’t come from some spiritual authority outside of us. There is nothing we’re “supposed to” do in this lifetime. Divine guidance comes from our own Divine Self, our Higher Self. To live a Divinely guided life means allowing our physical lifetime to become an authentic expression of our own Divinity.
This guidance is available to everyone at all times. Our Higher Self is not some separate part of us that dwells far away on the spiritual plane. Our physical incarnation is a reflection of our Higher Self, and vice versa. We are our Higher Self. Our Higher Self is us. Living a Divinely guided life means putting our Higher Self in charge.
Our Higher Self has but one agenda: to grow and learn through the opportunity of this physical incarnation. Every choice we make here on the physical plane is reflected at Soul-level. When we grow and expand within our physical lifetime, we grow and expand at Soul-level. When we get stuck through fear or unconsciousness in our physical life circumstances, we also get stuck at Soul-level.
Allowing our Higher Self to be in charge takes courage. Our Higher Self doesn’t attach the same values and judgments to our life circumstances that we do. Our circumstances or choices either serve our growth and expansion, or they do not. There is no good, no bad, no success, no failure. Our Higher Self is not attached to the various labels that come with human relationships, careers, financial wealth or poverty. And so when we surrender ourselves to our Higher Self, we must let go of a lot of the beliefs, values, and judgments that have been drummed into us by our families, our educational system, society, and collective consciousness. We must truly take a stand and dance to our own music.
There is no destination point to the Divinely Guided Life - not even enlightenment! Every step on our journey towards growth brings us to a new starting point, from which we once again can take the next step. Physical life circumstances that may have served us one or two steps ago suddenly may serve us no longer. Again, we may be challenged in our attachment to places, jobs, relationships, or situations.
So what does a Divinely Guided Life offer us?
Allowing our Higher Self, our true Soul self, to express its nature and purpose into our lifetime generates tremendous fulfillment. It is why we are all here. We become centered in our own purpose, no longer easily swayed by the agendas placed upon us by other people, or even society in general. We know our path. We even actually walk that path - because those are two very different challenges! And as we surrender into the flow of our Soul’s purpose, we know that we are limitlessly supported, infinitely loved, and truly Divine.

Andrea, your divinely inspired message inspires me to write this:
A Higher Self implies a Lower Self. Being sacred, the latter (with its wounds and the peculiar ways in which those wounds manifest themselves) requires acceptance. Being divine, the former requires assurance.
The Authentic Self has two fundamental aspects: sacred and divine. Learning and growing are merely processes to secure places and times where our encounters are sacred and our experiences divine. One might also say that the Authentic Self has soul and spirit: sacred encounters are cultivated with soul, by soul; divine experiences are expressed with spirit, by spirit. To the extent to which we cultivate quality with sacred intent and express vitality with divine intent, is the extent to which we can rely on our own Authentic Selves to guide our conduct.
Otherwise, in the process of learning and growing, we rely on others, in this or any other plane of existence, to guide us to the deepest, fullest, highest manifestation and expression of our Authentic Selves.

Hi Christos,
Awesome comment, although I had to read it a couple of times. I think I have my head wrapped around it now! I think I use the term “Higher Self” where you use “Authentic Self” - could that be?
Although I have to say that learning and growing are Soul-level functions, mirrored here in the physical. The Soul itself is here to increase its vibration, to evolve itself back to its Divine Source.
I agree with you that learning and growing is guided from within.
