Let go of the reins

Has anyone ever asked you for help, but then not taken you up on your assistance? Our Spirit Guides and angels that help and support us experience this all the time. We may ask them for help – but then we often stop listening. When no immediate solution becomes obvious, we go ahead and try to “figure it out” all on our own. Perhaps we try to muscle our way through the situation. And sometimes we just go into denial and hope that it will just go away.

In the meantime, what about the help that we asked for? Most likely, it has appeared – but we’ve been so busy going it alone that we did not recognize it for what it was. Assistance comes to us as the business opportunity that crosses our desk, the long-lost friend that leaves a message on our voice mail, or the three people that recommended the same book to us within a matter of days. Rarely does the help and support we have prayed for take on the form that we expect. But because we only look for the obvious solution to our current situation, we miss out on the subtle coincidences and synchronicities that our Guides and helpers have provided.

Once you have made a request for assistance, let go of attachment to what form that assistance takes. Have faith that help is on the way. Look for it in the small coincidences in life, the seemingly random opportunities that cross your path. Honor all of them as worth examining, because they may contain the very solution you’ve been asking for. You have done your part in requesting assistance. Now is the time to let go of the reins, and open to receive the path that is ready to unfold effortlessly before you.

Blessings,
Andrea

This posting makes a valid point. People will say they pray for solutions to difficult situations, recovery from illness or options to escape from feeling trapped. Often, these people already have a specific solution in mind and expect spirit guides, “Higher Forces,” the Universe or whatever they believe in, to make this specific solution happen. Yet, this mindset closes you off from other possibilities likely to pass you by. One of life’s lessons is to learn to stand back from what you assume is best and discover what is even better; those ideas you never considered before it was brought it to your attention.
