Binding negative people

Someone asked me today if it would be okay to conduct a binding on negative people.

That’s a definite “no way” from me. A binding, in my book, constitutes an interference with someone’s free will and free choice. Which puts the person conducting the binding squarely in the same category as all the negative influences I help my clients clear day in and day out.

In case you’re wondering, a binding energetically imposes limitations on another Soul. We can tell ourselves that we are not allowing them to create negativity - but we’re still acting out of alignment with Divine Love, Light and Truth. We as Lightworkers uphold free will at all times - even if someone is going to use that free will to work with negative influences.

If you’re not convinced yet, another consideration is that, by using our vital force energy to bind another, we are essentially creating an energetic connection to that other person. So, if you’re “binding” a negative individual, your energetic resources will forever be used to hold the energy of the binding in place. And by forever, I mean not just for this lifetime. It doesn’t happen often, but it has happened more than once that someone shows up in my practice, having conducted a binding on a negative Soul many lifetimes ago, and it is still taking up their energetic resources! So, by imposing limitation upon another, you’re also limiting yourself.

Finally, there is simply no need to bind another Soul, negative or positive. Negative influences can only harm us or affect us if we allow them to do so. In other words, we are never hapless victims. We must be receptive to negativity if it is to take root in our lives. So, if we wish to limit someone’s negative influence in our lives - from a controlling boss to an irresponsible neighbor - we must identify the mechanism within ourselves by which that negativity is received. Once we clear that receptivity, the negativity no longer has any effect on us whatsoever.

Lightwork starts with us and our awareness within ourselves. One of my favorite sayings is “If someone keeps pushing your buttons, then you just have to get rid of the buttons.” Get rid of the receptors for negativity. Leave another’s free will and free choice alone.
