What is productivity?

One of my appointments was canceled today, and I found myself with an unexpected two hours of “free” time. Between taking care of my business and my toddler, this happens to me so rarely that I immediately went into overdrive. The list of things I keep meaning to do but don’t have time for is extensive! How could I possibly make the most of this rare gift, this precious time that had suddenly become available? Should I write my newsletter, get a head start on my readings for tomorrow, edit the current draft of my book, or perhaps even give my bathroom a much-needed once-over? The options were overwhelming.
In the end, I did what I thought would be truly the most productive way I could invest this time. I made an appointment to get a massage.
I learn a lot from the readings I do for my clients, especially Spirit Guide readings. Just yesterday, the topic of productivity came up in a session. And how important it is for us to “play.” Often, it is the seemingly unproductive that nurtures us, charges up our batteries, and inspires us. Sometimes, the best ideas, the greatest advancements, the biggest successes, come to us when we let go.
So if being “productive” is all you seem to be doing, I encourage you to step away and play for a while. See what happens when you step back into your “productive” activities.
I’m going to go and get my massage now
Blessings,
Andrea
