Why settle for less than perfect?

Here’s my question of the day: why do we settle for situations that are less than ideal for us? The question arises as I’m in the process of creating space in my life so that I can dedicate more time to doing readings, and writing an on-line course in Intuition Development.

What I’m discovering is a whole slew of situtions and arrangements in my life that are just “okay.” They’re not great. So I’ve been thinking about what, ideally, these situations and arrangements would look like. What would be perfect?

This process alone has been an eye-opener. I am contemplating clearing some things from my schedule that I never in a million years thought I’d give up. But there’s only so much room in my life, just like everyone else’s.

We get very attached to what is comfortable. We stay in the job that is a little bit rewarding. We stay in the relationships that are somewhat working for us. We even continue some of our hobbies, even though they have started to feel a little bit like obligations.

In many ways, it’s wonderful to see the best in every situation (and my soul group has that particular trait down pat). But what if we aimed higher? Why not the job that is perfectly fulfilling? And, while we’re at it, perfectly structured to meet our needs? Why not the relationship of our dreams? Why can’t every aspect of our life give us joy and fulfillment?

Collective consciousness tells us things like “relationships are about compromise” and “you can’t always get what you want.” I’ve always challenged those beliefs, but now I’m really ready to take it to the next level. Why not expect the perfect situation, in every aspect of life?

Oddly enough, as soon as some of these thoughts came out of my mouth while in conversation with a friend yesterday, one of the situations that had really been bugging me resolved itself … all on its own. We get out of life what we expect. I invite you to join me in expecting the most perfect situations to present themselves!

Blessings,
