I always like to pass on any really good books – I recently came across a lovely little parenting book called “Buddha never raised kis & Jesus didn’t drive carpool” by Vickie Falcone.

Essentially, it’s about applying spiritual principles to parenting. There’s nothing brand-new here, but it offers a lovely, inspiring perspective on how to integrate spirituality into parenting practices – something that is so easy to forget. I know that my own toddler’s tantrums don’t always feel really spiritually inspiring to me! :-)

So, all of you parents – a little inspiration can never hurt when you’re driving carpool!

I sometimes still get delighted by how well our intuition can serve us in the practical, everyday little aspects of life.

For example, my husband’s tire blew out on his drive home last week. The next morning, I agreed to go and have the damaged tire replaced. I used my intuition to determine whether I should go right when the tire store opened, or if I should stop there after going to the gym, sometime midmorning. My conscious mind thought that the store would be busier at the earlier time. When I asked the question of my Higher Self, however, it advised me to go first thing when the store opened. Sure enough, only two other people were there and it took all of twenty minutes to get the new tire on my husband’s car.

Then this week, my own car’s battery died. Instead of going to my usual mechanic, I tried a new place on a gut feeling. They got me in and out with my new battery in fifteen minutes, and what could have been a major pain was a minor inconvenience.

So there you have it – two real-life examples of how your intuition can make your life run smoother.

Now I just have to use my intuition to figure out why we’re having so much car trouble …

Andrea

I was positively outraged when I watched one of Sylvia Browne’s segments on Maury Povich the other day. I was working out at the gym, and it was the only show on TV in front of the treadmills (I don’t make a habit of watching Maury of my own volition … just want you all to know).

Now, I’ve read some of Sylvia Browne’s stuff, and some of it I agree with, and some of it I think is outdated.

But in this segment, a poor lady had all kinds of horrible stuff going on in her house. Sylvia Browne told her that the place was toxic and that she should move out.

Excuse me? So, she should sell her house to someone else who is going to experience trauma? She should just run away and let negative forces dictate her life? She should incur the expenses of moving, over something that can be fixed? I don’t think so.

There are no negative forces or influences that we do not have power over. Just like, when you turn on a light switch, darkness must disappear completely, we can clear negative influences. We don’t even necessarily need special training. All we have to do is ask for assistance from Spirit, name the influences we’d like cleared, and our spiritual guides and helpers will do it for us. But we MUST request it. Conscious intent is what moves the world. Spirit cannot intervene unless we direct it.

So this poor lady is going to go through the trouble and expense of moving, and possibly incur some pretty negative karma when she sells the house to some other unsuspecting family. All she really needed was to clear her property.

There is no negativity we ever have to run away from. Let’s bring more Light into the world by asking for spiritual assistance to clear negativity. Otherwise, we’re really not helping anyone.

If you have negativity influencing you, your family, or your home, know that you do not have to live with it. You certainly don’t have to sell your house and move.

I’ve recently had a number of different e-mails and conversations in which people are telling me that they’d rather have someone else gather information from the spiritual realm for them, instead of accessing the information themselves. I suppose that’s good for me, since this is what I do! On the other hand, one of my main goals is to empower others to access their Higher Self and their intuitive resources for themselves.

True, when we’re emotionally involved or have a strong preference around the information we’d like to receive, it’s hard to remain objective and clear in accessing our intuition. Still, it can be done with a little practice.

The trick really is not to start by gathering information about issues of major importance and emotionality. If you have a great deal of concern around a relationship, financial situation, or career move, these are not the subjects to start with. Of course, we usually tend to turn towards our intuition when we are in a place of indecision or even despair.

So be proactive, people! If you work with your intuition on small everyday decisions, act on the information and get comfortable with the positive outcomes you receive, you will be far more comfortable accessing your intuition around the “big stuff” in life.

Here’s to spiritual empowerment and independence. Be your own source!

Blessings,

Andrea

P.S. I want to hear about what scares you when it comes to acting on the information you receive intuitively! Leave your comments, please!

I’ve had the uncomfortable experience over the last couple of days of banging my head against a wall. Technology that’s “supposed to” work simply did not work for me. I kept banging for a while longer, and ended up with quite a headache.

I think we’ve all been there – the wall can be just about anything. And, no matter what the wall is, the best thing is to step at least ten steps back, take an aspirin (or have a nice glass of wine), and have a good long chuckle at our own behavior.

Stepping away from the wall, we can see that it’s just a little wall. It doesn’t have to be overcome … now that we’ve gotten a slightly more removed perspective, we realize we can just as well walk around it.

Whatever we focus on expands. When we’re up close to the wall, all we can see is the wall. We may even forget what’s behind there that we’re so keen about.

So step away from the wall! Your vision will expand (I realized there’s more than one software out there to suit my needs!) and allow for new opportunities.
