First and foremost, we are here to CREATE. It’s pretty tough to experience ourselves as Divine, after all, if we are not witnessing ourselves as the powerful Creators of our experience. In order to do that, well … we have to create something. And it’s not a process that ends! There is no end point, no finish line when we’re “done” creating. And yet, many of us aren’t actually creating anything new. Sure, we’re very busy! We all have a lot to do. But are we productive? Are our circumstances CHANGING? If life is basically staying the same (while we’re running around like busy little hamsters in a wheel) then we are not actually CREATING. We’re just expending effort … but what is the effort turning into? All of us have a tremendous amount of creative energy. It’s the energy that allows us to do more than just survive and maintain status quo. It’s our natural abundance, our “surplus.” It’s the energy that we can utilize as we wish. But we do have to point that energy somewhere. We have to set an intention, decide on how we want to manifest that intention, and take decisive action. Otherwise, our creative…
What would it be like, to really “know” your Soul Purpose? What if you absolutely knew your Soul Purpose to a high level of detail? Let’s say that you knew with complete certainty that you are a spiritual healer, and that your niche was women who are contemplating or going through a divorce. You are to deliver your gifts primarily through public speaking and private healing sessions, and that your first step is to secure local speaking gigs at women’s wellness centers and yoga studios. Then you’d book private local clients from those speaking gigs, which you’d use to fund the building of a website. You know exactly what kind of team you need to hire for your marketing and administration. Your team would help you secure more speaking gigs and start building an online presence, and you would focus on doing remote healing sessions and group healing sessions at a national level. Eventually, you’d become a published author, leading to speaking engagements at international wellness conferences. Because you “know” without a shadow of a doubt that this is your Soul Purpose, you also “know” with absolute certainty that you’d be met with success and abundance every step of…
Here’s a great way NOT to manifest money: Allow money to be the boss of you! There are two (pretty pervasive!) ways in which we allow money to run our lives: The first is that we make our choices based on how much money we have (or don’t have!). “Living within our means” or “living on a budget” is upheld as a sensible choice in our society. But it often means that we shrink our world, our dreams, and our authentic self-expression to fit our finances. I once overheard a mom in my daughter’s Girl Scout troop complaining how she couldn’t take a class because of her limited income. My immediate thought was: “Why don’t you just increase your income?” The mom in question looked at me like I had two heads! The idea of taking charge and simply increasing her income had never occurred to her. Creating an additional income stream is not hard these days. There are a million small ways we can make money outside of our “steady” paychecks. But we’ve been conditioned to accept the limitations of our income and arrange our lives based on the money we have … rather than increasing our financial abundance…
Take just a moment, and think about a juicy, delicious tomato. Can you almost feel it, see it, taste it? (Bear with me here … this really IS an article about Purpose!) It’s easy to bring a tomato into your mind, isn’t it? With one flick of your imagination, a tomato appears in your consciousness. Compare this now to the effort it takes to make an actual, physical tomato manifest. You have to clear a suitable piece of garden and perhaps prepare the soil. You have to buy tomato seeds and plant them. You have to water your tomato plants, and put stakes in the ground to help the vines to grow. Perhaps you have to protect the young tomato plants from bugs and bunnies. Most of all, tomatoes take time until they are finally ripe and ready to return the nurture that you put into them. What if we decided after only a few weeks that, obviously, tomatoes just weren’t going to “work for us” and stopped tending our garden? What if we never plant anything because we are hung up on the choice between heirloom, cherry, or Roma tomatoes? What if we let our doubts and fears sway…
I recently got a LOT of questions (and by “questions,” I also mean a number of disgruntled emails!) about WHY, exactly, I decided to stop offering my “Money Manifesting Mastery” program. Here’s what happened: I got a whole bunch of emails that downright horrified me. Because, apparently, I had been perpetuating a perspective that has NOTHING to do with what I believe in. I was attracting lots of folks who thought that “manifesting money” means money conveniently dropping into our laps without our actually having to CHANGE our lives or take new action. Aaaargh! This is, of course, NOT what my work is about! When someone’s idea of creating a financial breakthrough is winning the lottery or receiving a big chunk of change from “somewhere unexpected” … it breaks my heart. Money is that beautiful substance that forces us to stay ENGAGED with each other, that represents our interconnectedness and interdependence. The flow of money from person to person is the third-dimensional manifestation of Source energy. In this physical dimension, it connects us and creates Oneness. To hope for money magically appearing in our bank account without offering value to other people … that’s just another version of spiritual escapism. …
