I am always amazed that people try to “manifest” things like getting their book finished, or pray for consistent action-taking in their business. After all, the Universe can’t finish our book for us. God can’t “make us” take action in our business. That’s just something we DO – or not.
The Universe can only treat us the way we treat ourselves.
If we truly take the perspective that we are Creators, that we are, through our origin of Divine Source, the Source of all of our circumstances, and that we are Divine Beings … then we can’t exactly expect an outside “greater” force than ourselves to come to our rescue, to do on our behalf what we have not been willing to do for ourselves.
That would interfere with our free will, wouldn’t it? And free will is the very thing that MAKES us Creators. And so, if God, the Universe, Source, a Higher Power did indeed intercede on our behalf, our Divinity would become invalid.
God cannot value us more than we value ourselves, because we ARE God.
God cannot give us more determination than we are willing to direct towards our goals, because we ARE God.
God cannot cause us to take action on opportunity when we’re afraid, because we ARE God.
In other words, there is no outside force that can intercede on your behalf unless you are willing to first intercede on your OWN behalf. As soon as you act as the powerful Creator that you are, creation can support you. But until you exert your power, all power lies dormant as mere potential.
When we transcend our own fear, reluctance, discomfort, and step out into the unknown because we are willing to give ourselves what we want most …. only then do miracles of manifestation happen.
We have to jump off the cliff, willing to experience flight before the Universe can affirm that we can, indeed, fly.
We can watch other people fly, to help us believe in the possibility of flight.
We can learn all about flying, through books and information products and teachers.
It’s not the same as actually flying.
We can spend a lot of time walking along that cliff, looking for the safest place to jump from, educating ourselves, preparing for flight, preparing to jump, but pulling back in fear time and again, only to go to the next teacher, the next class, the next flying tactic.
And we can pray, and intend, and pray some more for the Universe to finally swoop in, and, when we’re conveniently unaware, shove us off that cliff. Because we can’t find it within ourselves to take the leap. And it would be nice if the Universe then also proved to us that we could fly.
It doesn’t work that way.
If God and the Universe shoved us off the cliff, that would constitute interference with our free will, which is the very means by which we are Divine. It would be God, invalidating itself through its own existence, since we ARE God.
It is deciding that we are worth jumping off the cliff that also gives us the ability to fly.
If you are asking an outside “Higher Power” to do what you are not willing to do for yourself, you are creating a conflict between yourself and Universal Law. And that conflict will always manifest itself as struggle. You are, ultimately, the highest power in your life. Your choices are made manifest, no matter what.
If you truly saw yourself as Divine, how would you treat yourself?
How would you value your Gifts? How would you support your desires?
Are you asking or praying for the Universe to do what you are not willing to do for yourself?
To your infinite Divine nature,
Andrrea

Hi Andrea,
Are you asking or praying for the Universe to do what you are not willing to do for yourself?
That statement was all I really needed to read, I feel like posting that on the back drop of the sky for so many people around me to see every time they look up to the sky and ask God for help
Andrrea!
I am continually amazed by you. What a perfect article and exactly what I needed at this moment. I have learned an empowering amount of information in the past few months about manifesting and the universe-how it all works. In the past as I have read about this, it all seemed a little “out there”. My understanding of the teachings were always a little murky-it did seem as if these things that I wanted were going to somehow fall out of the ether and it just didn’t jive with me. I completely understand manifesting from this article and what I have learned from you. I have to take action in order for the universe to respond. The praying, visualizing, learning, getting coached are tools to help me overcome my fear and act-but that is it. In the end I have to ACT. I get it. Thank you so much!! Jodi
Hi Andrrea – it’s been awhile. Don’t know if you remember me but I’m back in the internet circles and enjoyed your post.
You’re right about God, the universe and taking action in our lives. I believe we’ve been given gifts and talents in unique ways but it’s up to us to move and take action and put it out in the world and it all works together abundantly.
Love talking to you again.
This has got to be one of the bigges common misconceptions people have when they start off with the LOA. Sure sometimes action can be very small and create a very big result (I saw proof of that recently). If people really beleive they are god then it’s worth asking why they are praying to themselves.
I still do some visualization, and I’ve got some problems that aren’t going to go away without doing some healing work, but after I figured out that I do have to take action (I started questioning the lack of action idea some people hold pretty quickly) I stopped asking the universe to just bring me the money and started asking for it to show me overtures and ideas for making money (which was answered with so many ideas and overtures I wasn’t sure which way turn).
Andrrea – I love the way you always close the loop on abundance and manifestation. Folks hear what they want to hear on the subject and often it’s the personal responsibility bit that gets left out. You always put it right up front where it needs to be. Thank you.
Very good article – excellent food for thought. THIS part \”… since we ARE God.” says it all for me. If we treated everyone as God, all the world would be so kind. Thanks much, Candy
Thank you Andrrea for another awesome article! I agree…even when you ask a friend to help push you off the cliff and they agree…it’s not the same, it’s not that same feeling of “I did it!” and there is a little bit of resentment…So many times we ask for what we think we want but it’s not really what we want. We say we want someone to help us, to push us off that cliff, but if it really were to happen – we wouldn’t be very happy about it!
I think what we need most is someone to jump WITH us. On the count of 3, holding hands…1, 2, 3…we both jump. That is so much more fun than doing it alone! I feel so much of this earth is about Relationship – and there is nothing more fun than doing whatever it is that you are doing with someone special to you.
Blessings!
Alaya
I loved this article and it definitely speaks to my fear of putting myself out there. The part that really brought me to tears is: “If you truly saw yourself as Divine, how would you treat yourself? How would you value your Gifts? How would you support your desires?” I see a huge opportunity here to be more loving and honoring to myself, my children, and my husband. Thanks so much. Karen
Thank you so much, that was exactly what I needed to hear! I need to step out of the fear and expect more from myself because I CAN do it I just need to jump off that cliff and fly
Hugs
