There’s one thing that’s just as important as knowing who are. And that’s knowing who we are NOT.
Knowing who we are NOT can save us a lot of time, energy and heartbreak. Instead of struggling to improve ourselves, instead of getting distracted by bright, shiny objects and possible opportunities, we can say a clear and definite “no, thank you” to anything that is not impeccably aligned to our Purpose.
In doing reading after reading for the attendees of my upcoming Money & Purpose event, what really smacked me upside the head is that we don’t collectively give ourselves permission to be as unique in our creative process as we truly are.
When you look at thirty Souls in one morning, what really stands out is how differently we are made as energetic Beings. Each Soul’s vibrational spectrum is so completely unique!
So why is it that, even with the freedom of self-expression available in entrepreneurship, we love to follow “proven” models, systems and blueprints that worked for someone else?
The idea that there is a “right” way to make money that will definitely “work” if you just follow certain steps is definitely seductive. And there’s nothing wrong with emulating someone else’s business model …. IF you’re energetically similar to the person whom you are emulating!
And that’s where it all falls down. We tend to chase who we are NOT, rather than embrace who we truly are. And that means we frequently try to emulate people to whom we have little or no energetic similarity. For example, there are very few clients to whom I would recommend my exact business model! That’s because, energetically speaking, they are not at all made like me! Instead, we leverage THEIR unique gifts to create income.
What we must remember is that we can create ANYTHING we want. Each of us, regardless of our Soul’s vibrational spectrum, is capable of creating a fabulous income doing what makes our heart sing.
But how we get there is a different story.
Each of us was created to be unique. The way we were created by the Divine is also the way WE were designed to be Divine CREATORS. A pine tree can grow big and tall. But if that pine tree is trying to emulate a rose bush … well, it will stunt its own growth, deny itself its Divine self-expression, and become very frustrated with its lack of rose-growing abilities.
All of us were also designed to grow big and tall, lush and abundant in this world. All we have to do is embrace our true nature, and know that we don’t have to become who we are NOT.

I agree wholeheartedly, Andrrea! I do things a LOT differently than other web service professionals do, and that’s ok, because what I do works for me. And I work with my clients the same way you do – tailoring things to THEIR specific needs, skills and who they are. Much better results that way.
AMEN SISTER! You always have a marvelous way of putting into words what I am sensing or feeling and even sharing with my clients but seldom take the time to write down and actually contemplate it in the same way. Thanks HUGELY!
Hi Andrea- I had recently asked “how would I do business- what would work for ME?” and Boom, your message came as reinforcement of what I had already known but needed to hear from “outside”. I noticed that there is a tendency in the transformational/heart-centered industry where people sell “my exact 3 steps/model to (build a 6-figure business)”, etc. They turn their experience and turn it into some kind of income source. There are two kinds of entrepreneurs. One with a message that is beyond their personal selves, their big picture message. I tend to resonate with these people whose products underline their purpose. The other group- they are not necessarily, according to my high standards, transformationalists. They SELL to heart-centered entrepreneurs, or would-be ones. Their underlying message is “buy my stuff, or else (sink)”. It makes me CRINGE!! Anyway, Andrea, your sharing your journey and no BS communication is beyond exceptional. It is nice to hear that you are doing your purpose, and not building your business… because, you’re right, I CAN’T. It’s a concept and a framework, and i don’t mean to ever marry it!!

Kayoko, thank you for your comment about “doing your purpose, and not building your business.” For some reason, the way you said that really struck me, and I’m inspired by it. Sweet!
Andrea!
Uniquely inspirational are you!
So well put – our biz model needs to have an energetic resonance with who we are. I feel I am constantly have to re-learn this. When I stay true to my path, my own model, things work. When I start to feel I’m ‘missing’ something, my decisions may not always support my Life Purpose!
Keep up the good stuff!

Andrrea, thank you, you keep on saying what I need most to hear. I have been very inspired not only by what you teach, but also by the way you are delivering online. It’s been a huge learning curve for me, and now I get that I need to find MY way of doing what I do with new technologies. Thanks!
First of all this is advice that I wish everyone who is trying to lower high school drop out rates and improving the education system in general. There are people are not going to benifit from pursing the education everyone seems to idealize. I certainlly would never have benifited from another 4 years of hell, and knowing who I am NOT saved me putting myself through that. By the same token I have watch a person who seems not to have this understanding of himself put himself through the misery I avoided with this simple peice of information. Clearly not everyone resontates with the classroom.
There are people who are determined to have everyone beleive that there is only one way to create weath. The funny thing is that if I had followed their path I would have no chance to make a living, it seems to me that by deffintion that’s a reason to stop doing things their way.
So true. That’s why we rely on you to guide us! : )
