Creating more income sounds SO good, doesn’t it? Most people can enthusiastically get behind the idea of increasing their financial abundance level – especially when they can do so in alignment with their Soul purpose, and through serving others.
But here’s the reality.
In order to create new financial results, you have to BE a different person from who you are today. Because the person you are today is vibrationally aligned to your current income.
You will have to open to new ideas.
You will have to take new action.
But most importantly – you will have to give up your current self-image.
You will have to let go of who you “know” yourself to be.
But most of us are very attached to who we think we are. We’ve created a nice, neat picture of functionality, personal preferences, white-washed some of our upbringing so that we could maintain familial relationships, conveniently rewritten a bit of our history to fit our story of ourselves, all to accommodate the reality we’ve created for ourselves so far.
But now we want to create more income. Which means all the parts of ourselves that we’ve carefully constructed for one reason or another to cope with our reality, all the parts that are not in alignment with the money we want … all of those parts have to be transformed.
Every insecurity about your self-worth and value will show up and challenge you as you begin to take action towards more abundance.
You will have to dive into the shadowy aspects of yourself and unearth the not-so-pretty parts, the stuff that most people get to conveniently leave unexamined because they go to a job every day, where they do not get to determine their own value.
Who you are will have to change. You will have to become an entirely different version of yourself – a version that is more aligned to your Divinity. And you will have to give up who you believe yourself to be right now.
Layers and layers of human beliefs, habits, coping mechanisms and choices will need to be transformed.
Before they can be transformed, they have to be acknowledged.
Before they can be acknowledged, they have to be questioned.
Transformation doesn’t have to be painful, nor does it create suffering. But it’s an uncomfortable process, because you have to let the “you” that you know go, in favor of an unfamiliar “you.” And you won’t know what that “you” will be like until you get “there.”
For a while, it can feel like we know neither up nor down. It can feel like every molecule of our Being is confused, and even while we’re creating great results a part of us wants to crawl into bed and pull the covers up over our heads. It’s like getting on a roller-coaster ride without being sure when or if it’s going to end.
While every piece of our Being is energetically rearranging itself to align to the financial circumstances we want, we experience discomfort. We’re no longer who we were, but we’re not settled into who we’re going to be yet, either. It’s disconcerting, scary, unsettling.
Are you willing? Are you ready to give up “you” in favor of a different “you” that is more aligned to abundance? Are you willing to allow every molecule of your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual Being to shift its vibration, and to no longer be who you are right now?
There can be no transformation of your external bank account unless you are willing to undergo this kind of inner transformation.
And here’s the real secret: The transformation IS the point of it all. Because it’s not really about the money. And yet, the money is a perfect measure of your inner transformation. It’s a measure that does not lie. It’s a measure that can be … well, measured.
Are you willing?
To your infinite abundance,

You’ve so hit the mark with this article Andrea! Thank you for eloquently reminding us that the transformational roller coaster ride can be a very uncomfortable process, but the result is our own much needed transformation.
This is so accurate to what I experience when I change some aspect of my life in a significant way. I’m getting better at witnessing the discomfort, even during the times when it’s downright terrifying. I’m learning how to access the part of my perception that is willing to observe and trust that something so much better is coming into expression. It’s amazing how strong the inner guardian against change can be. No wonder I let it call the shots for so long. I’m consciously disconnecting what I call my ‘bungee cord’ programs along the way. I still use the pendulum process you taught in the Money Intuition class a couple of years ago.
Thanks Andrea!
Nancy
I find there’s 2 types of discomfort. One is showing me I’m out of alignment. The other is what you described here, Andrrea, the discomfort of change and growth. The trick for me is to distinguish between the two. Thanks for your article!
Hi Sue – the discomfort of doing CHANGE usually comes with new results. That’s how you can tell the difference!
Different results? What a simple yet true way to say it. New results began happening just this weekend after I let go of holding onto the way “I thought it should be”. It felt like one foot was lifted off the brake pedal and the other released the clutch. VOILA! I am moving forward again!
Nancy, I love how you described lifting off the break and releasing the clutch. So vivid. I can see you moving!
Wow, Andrrea, you are so amazing at giving a simple explanation that is so, so powerful. I love it!
Awesome! Thank you, this is so true. Staying in the same place will leave you, well, staying in the same place!
Andrea – exactly!
Love,Love Your words today.I am right there.
Blessing you ,and all you are ,and do.
Love,
Glenda
What an awesome and articulate article, Andrea! Clear as always, and inspiring in times when we think it’s fine the way it is, instead of heading for the next level. Thanks so much for the well needed “kick in the comfort zone”!!
Thank you, Heike!! Glad I could provide a “kick” if needed, lol.
I couldn’t beleive didn’t see this article before. As uncomfortable as the transformation there are far worse discomforts than those that come with it. And then there is also the point where once you’ve gone down the road just far enough there really is no going back even if you’re less than 1% of 1% of the way into your journey.
So far for me the only thing that kept me from giving up was keeping my eyes on the prize(s).
Great article!
I find that big desired transformations take me time to grow into the new way of being. Not in an excuse or avoidance sort of way. It takes time for new though forms to become strong enough so that the physical can shift and adapt to something already decided in the non-physical. And sometimes changes require a hit over the head with a cosmic 2×4. : )
Hi Elaine! I think your language here is interesting – just a comment! You say “It takes time for new though forms to become strong enough so that the physical can shift and adapt” – but the thing is, YOU actually DECIDE on what thought forms you create, and how powerfully you create them. Just wanted to point out the passive language. You ARE 100% in charge of this process.
Which means we also can avoid that cosmic 2 x 4 (which I am unfortunately familiar with, but haven’t gotten smacked in a while now!)
So, please tell me more about the cosmic 2×4 you reference in response to Elaine. Thanks so much.
Anne, the “cosmic 2 x 4″ is just a funny way of referencing how we sometimes manifest those loving, swift kicks upside the head that the Universe delivers to us – you know, job loss, illness, and other near-disasters that force us to radically shift our direction. Not pleasant, but we create it when we desperately need to change but aren’t doing it.
Hello! Thank you for your response. And I do understand the metaphor. And the hard part right now is the time in transition when the major personal changes have begun to be made (as initiated by the cosmic 2×4 hits) and still there is no space to yield and rest and the ground gained, as it appeared, from the new changes, is now slipping back into the river. Our time on this planet as physical beings is limited, and maybe if optimistic we might get 100 years, so it is not so much a matter of lack of patience but rather managing to stay afloat until the next shift, that feels not under our control. More complex is when there are other humans (like children) dependent upon what choices you make both directly for them and indirectly. And time is moving that water very swiftly. Searching your website for clarity. Thank you.
ps. o yes! re what you write to elaine above, my question is also: how do you avoid the 2x4s? Practically speaking. I mean, I have followed advice received in my daily meditations/prayers for my entire life. I thought that was a good way to avoid the 2x4s and I think I have managed to avoid a few and then work around some I did see coming, and even manage to survive a few direct hits, but now my avoidance tactics (which has in the past included embrace tactics) appear not to be working so much in my favor. And I realized this over a year ago and began trying to read the messages fm Spirit(s) what I’m supposed to do, and have made some major shifts in changes that I knew would be hard but felt I worked through them, but NOW there seems to be no end in the major hits, and perhaps that is just age but maybe it is me resting in the belief that at some points the hits will slow up. And they have not yet. Any quick thoughts on this?
Hi Anne,
My journey with rapid hits lasted at least a decade. My growth was rapid as well and things kept operating at warp speed for more than a decade. From time to time I asked my guides to slow things down for a couple of weeks so I could rest. After a brief recharge I would ask them to bring it on.
In terms of what was happening, I think I was bumping up against resistent belief systems. The stronger the bump, the stronger the belief system. Its all good. Hang in.
Gail
O Thanks Gail~ I do wonder if you might give me a personal concrete example of what was happening for ten years, and where you are at now? Would help much perhaps to guide my way right now.
Strangely today I reluctantly went to one of my spiritual healers who does muscle testing to assess where I am in alignment with my higher self. For just over 2 years I have been connecting with her biweekly and have found her practice to be accurate and efficient. Often surprising.
Today addressed some major issues beyond my consciousness that I really wasn\’t sure I was aligned. Intellectually, given where I am at right now, I thought for sure my congruence needed some tweaking.
I was spirit and body were shockingly completely aligned. That meant, all those hits I\’m talking about in the above posts are in fact in alignment with my higher self/wisdom and need no adjustment.
I am so confused! We did not have enough time to investigate today\’s confusion, but really, I must admit my bearing of these hits appears to be aligned with my subconscious purpose. What to do from here I am so confused!
And then I wax and wane between wanting to stay grounded and wanting to lift off this planet.
Very odd. Thank you for responding. Much appreciated
~ Anne
Hi Anne,
I have to jump in here – because I really have to question the frame of reference for you / this healer you’re going to!
Look – WE create all of it. So if you’re creating a bunch of “hits” for yourself where life is unpleasant, it’s because you’re creating that. Your Higher Self has NO interest in making life unpleasant for you. There’s always a way to learn and grow that doesn’t involve getting “hit.” Suffering is optional.
The way to avoid the cosmic 2 x 4 is simple: Stop CREATING them. Nothing happens to us. But what you need to do is figure out how you’re creating what you’re creating … and create something new.
We DECIDE how we experience this lifetime. If we decide we want to learn the hard way – or we think the hard way is necessary – then that’s what we’ll get. If we tell our Guides to “bring on” the difficulty, they have no choice but to follow our will!
Always, always, always let your results tell you how aligned you are to your Divine self-expression. If you are aligned, everything flows effortlessly, and you are creating abundance in all areas. It’s that simple. Please don’t let anyone tell you, ever, that struggle, misfortune, or hardship are part of what you’re “supposed to” grow through, or part of some plan created by your Higher Self or Spirit. That’s just nonsense! And disempowering to boot …
Anne – you are creating what you are creating currently. And you can at all times choose to create something new!
Hi Andrea and All,
Yes, do not worry! My healer friend began to address whatever it is that makes me think I must do it the hard way but we ran out of time, hopefully in a few weeks we will revisit.
She did in fact advise I begin to pay attention to my nighttime dreams a little more, with the usual caveat that dreams are all representations of concepts probably only I understand.
Another good friend, with whom I’ve studied in the spirit realm quite a bit, visited yesterday and said similar to what you say above, find out how I am creating what I’m creating and create something new. He referenced Eckart Tolle talking of patterns, and whirlpools, and the way to escape a whirlpool is to alter the limitations of that whirlpool. For example, shifting the sand and rocks below it, and break the whirl.
Ok. I get it. That is what I must do. How? That is why I am finding your site so helpful, interesting. But still have not accessed the how…. or having completely figured out the what.
Will send you a quick private note in a moment. Thank you for your care.
Anne
