“Will anyone buy that?”
This is a question that comes up frequently when I talk to new clients about their core offer.
See, deep down, most of us do know what value we really want to offer to others. If we’re courageous enough to go into our hearts and have a good look around, we know we want to help others with their relationships, or with their intuitive development, or with the organization of their closets, or with their optimal nutrition. We know.
And we also know how we would most love to deliver that value – whether that’s through private in-person sessions, or mastermind groups, or digital products, or teleclasses, or continuity programs.
The possibilities are endless … but if we get totally honest with ourselves, we DO know what we want to offer, and in what format.
So why aren’t we getting on with it?
Most of the time, it’s because of that question. “Will anyone buy that?”
On the surface, this question is about whether we can truly make a living doing that thing that’s in our hearts.
It’s a terribly disempowering question. Too many entrepreneurs base their business not on what’s authentically in their hearts, but on what they think people will buy.
The problem is that we can’t possibly know what people will buy. And by basing our business on our perception of other people’s opinions, we take ourselves out of our purpose, out of our authenticity, and out of everything that makes abundance truly flow.
“Will anyone buy that?” is the wrong question to ask.
If you communicate the value of what you offer effectively … then OF COURSE someone will buy what you’re offering.
If we dig a little deeper, we find that this question “Will anyone buy that?” is not a money question at all.
Dig a little deeper, and you’ll find that the real question is: “If I put my heart and soul on a silver platter for all the world to see … if I put what’s most precious to me, my innate value, my passion, my purpose, and offer it to the world … what if the world doesn’t think I’m valuable?”
There’s a deeper reason we don’t offer the products and services that are really in our hearts. We’re terrified of rejection. We don’t want the Universe to break our hearts. We don’t want, under any circumstances, to have that secret vision we have of our sacred, purposeful value negated.
It feels far safer to default to products and services that seem more “sellable” or that seem like they have a “proven” track record. Unfortunately, for highly conscious entrepreneurs, the key to abundance is standing in our authentic self-expression. By basing our business on anything other than what is truly authentic, we actually hinder the flow of money … and what we most fear becomes a reality. No-one buys our “stuff.” But that’s because it’s not really our authentic, purposeful “stuff.”
As we come into 2012, offering anything less than what’s 100% authentic to our Soul Purpose and our heart’s desires just won’t cut it.
If you could offer ANYTHING of value to others, in ANY format, in exchange for for money … what would it be?
Dig deep. Do it.
Blessings,
Andrea

Wow… Brilliant article, Andrea!… This really resonates with me… Thank you so much for sharing this!… Love, Aurelio.
What you say is so true! I find myself doubting that people will want to buy what I have to offer and catch myself trying to make it more ‘palatable’ to potential clients. Learning to trust in my natural gifts and talents has been challenging.
What a wonderfully inspiring article, Andrea! Thank you. You’ve really torn open the fear wrapper on our divine gifts
I’m thinking about products and services to offer in the beginning part of 2012 – and I will definitely make sure they are authentic!!
Blessings,
Keena
This video comes at the PERRR~FECT time for me.
With your help years ago I realized my gift to the world is laughter. I have ZERO doubt about it now.
However, I am VERY conflicted about mixing mixing capitalism with charity. Part of me would love to get paid for delivering laughter full time and the other part of me simply enjoys giving it away. This has been my struggle since starting Giggle On in 2008. I compartmentalize by working hard at my day job to fund my charity work.
As usual, you’ve given me lots to think about Andrea. Thank you for your guidance on my path. Namaste with giggles
Wonderful video and message. You are such a great model of putting what really matters out there.
Thank you, once again!
Spot on Andrea, thanks for this article!! I have really been digging deep about my own fears about selling my products this week! Thanks again!
BINGO! You hit the nail on the head on this one….it resonated with me, so much so that I could hear you sitting next to me saying “so, have you done it yet?”
LOL
I agree, we are afraid of the rejection, of maybe people won’t like our stuff….and afraid to start because we feel we have to have it figured out….but as you said it, and said it well, how the heck would we know anyways what they would buy?…we have to start and have to leave the “work out all the details” to later! Well said, Andrea. Glad to have an awesome friend like you…and don’t be afraid to kick my butt to the curb when its needed
Yes indeed! Thank you for this! This is soooo relevant to what I’m experiencing in my work. Creating work that comes from the deepest part of my being. It’s super-scary, but it MUST be done. Once we do it, there’s no going back.
I love this!
So very en-couraging!
As ever, thank you so much, dear Andrea.
Hi Andrea,
I recently put out a product because I was advised to do so by a business mentor. It was supposed to be an easy way to create some income. I didn’t want to do it but went ahead anyway. I got no interest for it and was really upset for a while, but your article has really made sense of things for me.
Thank you,
Liax
You’re right to the point, thank you so much andrea
You waked me up! ♥ LoL
you shine a light upon my deep hidden fear of being
rejected, that’s speaks so true to me and I realize, what ever produkt I offer the true service is to share who I really am, love, peace, joy
Andrea,
Brilliant. And perfectly timed to support me. What a gift.
Sincerely,
