Here’s a great way NOT to manifest money: Allow money to be the boss of you!

There are two (pretty pervasive!) ways in which we allow money to run our lives:

The first is that we make our choices based on how much money we have (or don’t have!). “Living within our means” or “living on a budget” is upheld as a sensible choice in our society. But it often means that we shrink our world, our dreams, and our authentic self-expression to fit our finances.

I once overheard a mom in my daughter’s Girl Scout troop complaining how she couldn’t take a class because of her limited income. My immediate thought was: “Why don’t you just increase your income?” The mom in question looked at me like I had two heads! The idea of taking charge and simply increasing her income had never occurred to her.

Creating an additional income stream is not hard these days. There are a million small ways we can make money outside of our “steady” paychecks. But we’ve been conditioned to accept the limitations of our income and arrange our lives based on the money we have … rather than increasing our financial abundance so that we can make the choices we WANT.

The flip side of this pattern is very different, but equally non-abundant.

We allow money to be our boss by making choices based purely around wanting to manifest money, or needing to make money. This pattern has given rise to the concepts of having to work “hard” and “sacrificing” for the sake of financial gain.

We do what we “have to” do in order to make income, right? Even if we don’t like our jobs, don’t like what we think we “have to “ do in our business … hey, it’s all just part of what HAS to be done for our paycheck. We gotta do what we gotta do to bring home the bacon, right?

This side of allowing money to be in charge of our lives is, perhaps, even more pervasive than the first. Because, after all, we can tell ourselves we’re just being sensible, that we’re doing all the “right” things in order to be financially responsible. We tell ourselves that this is the way of the world – that everybody does things that they don’t really want to do in order to make money.

But in reality, this is STILL allowing money to determine our choices.

Even if we get paid … this is not living in abundance. Any choice we make out of obligation, or perceived necessity, cannot ever create true abundance.

What’s the solution?

We have to understand that money is simply a natural consequence that occurs when we put our Soul-level Gifts into the world in a way that adds value to other people’s lives. Our Gifts are our natural, inherent abundance. Money is what happens when you express your Soul’s Divine nature into this physical dimension in tangible, practical ways, through action. YES, we have to set up some structures through which we can exchange our value for money. But our choices to do so are made based on our desire for authentic Divine self-expression, NOT on money. Money is just the inevitable consequence.

If money were NOT an issue … how would you want to add value to the lives of others? What would you want to do all day long? (Keep in mind that sitting on a beach all day, cocktail in hand, does get boring eventually! Although if that lifestyle were truly your Soul’s most authentic self-expression, there would still probably a way to monetize it …)

Ask yourself what choices you truly would WANT to make, if money were a non-issue. Start aligning your life to THOSE choices, as much as you can. Chances are, you will attract more financial abundance!

If your choice are made by your money – the money you have or the money you want – then money will always be in charge of you, regardless of how much of it you make. Abundance will remain elusive.

Step into Divine Creatorship. Money is a mere consequence, nothing more. It is a by-product, a natural result of choices that reflect your Divine Gifts and Soul Purpose. Money is a fantastic and desirable consequence. In fact, money showing up (or not!) can teach us so much about the abundance-level of our choices.

But let’s not put money ahead of self-determination, because that is not the path to financial abundance. Allowing money to be your master – in EITHER of these ways! – is a great way to create only lack.

To your Divine self-expression and infinite abundance,

Andrea
