I’m always playing with the energy of money – aligning and realigning what I’m doing in my life and business towards the energy of what I want to create. Sometimes this involves subtle course corrections, and sometimes major overhauls are required.
But what if money isn’t flowing in at all? What if you’re totally broke, no-one is hiring you, no clients are coming in, and the cash flow has dwindled to nothing?
In this case, the necessary course correction is actually pretty obvious. You want a complete turn-around. You want to create exactly the opposite result from what you’ve created so far!
The remedy? Try doing the opposite of what you’re currently doing!
Every action conveys an energy, which attracts a certain result. If you’re not currently making any money, then this is the energetic sum of your current actions. Obviously, you want to step into the opposite energy – a flow of money into your life. There’s a good chance that opposite actions will create that result!
If you’re currently hunkering down and waiting for the financial storm to pass, take bold and fearless action.
If you’re currently not getting out much, spend as much time as you can outside of your home.
If you’re trying to find clients on the Internet, go to networking meetings in person.
You get the picture …
Most importantly – do NOT do more of what’s already not working!
When we’re in a dire financial situation, our natural tendency is to contract and to stick to our comfort zone. But remember that your current actions are creating your present financial situation. Doing anything different – anything at all – is bound to create a different result. When money simply isn’t showing up, different is bound to be better! So don’t worry about finding the “right” action … when you want a vastly different result, a vastly different (i.e. opposite) action will get you there every single time!

I love the KISS approach you have written about here. How often we do do more of what is not working hoping for different results
As usual, confused. If one is now working hard toward something and doing everything one can think of, it would follow that doing little or nothing would be the opposite of that.

I was just speaking with a girlfriend on the telephone about doing the simple things every day that bring in money and letting go all the ‘stuff’ that doesn’t that we spend too much time focusing on…
I remember one day I had a LOT of ‘work’ to get done and a friend called to invite me on a beach run. My head said no but my heart yelled ‘YES’… and I went… and got a new teleseminar subscriber whilst frolicking in the waves…

So, instead of pursuing the entrepreneurial path that got me stuck in the quicksand, I’m out looking for a job. Maybe it won’t be forever, and I’ll eventually find the business that is right for me, but right now doing a 180 seems like the right thing to do. Action is magic, even if I don’t know what the magic will be!
Hi! I agree with Michael, I am also confused. I have been looking for a job for months and I have not even had an interview, I have been doing EVERYTHING I can think of to find a job, sending CV’s via internet, bringing CV’s in person to companies and shops, scouring all the ads, putting up ads, networking like crazy, even taking courses, I have changed my CV a dozen times thinking perhaps my CV was not attractive enough, written tens of cover letters, etc. and still NOTHING! I can’t imagine what would be the opposite of “doing everything” except, of course, “doing nothing”, and how would I possibly manifest a job into my life by doing absolutely nothing? If I do nothing then people will not even know I am looking for work! So I am confused also. Sorry.
Serena – so, to me the opposite of looking for a job wouldn’t be to stop looking for a job … and do nothing. It would be to stop looking for a job and start to create my own income stream and become self-employed. The Universe is giving you a giant hint, it seems.

Subsequent inspiration from my own guidance system and experience has (for me) shown that yes, doing nothing is not the “opposite” – but doing something different is. Problem is, sometimes it does need to be what you might think is _wildly_ different. So what…if it doesn’t work you’ll be no worse off. Take a flyin’ leap. I manifested a job loss and it turned out to be exactly what I needed because I was too afraid to consciously do it on my own (and in my case time is getting short.).
Another point that I’ve learned on my own is that I needed to become completely empty. Once I decided that I would accept whatever came along and in a sense didn’t care what that was, I was able to allow what I wanted to come in.
Finally, you can get pointers and concepts form other people (like what I’m writing here), but until you get it for yourself, from the gut, it’s just so much talk. Just don’t give up.

Yes although I was tossing about the idea of starting my own business I was really scared about it, scared that I wouldn’t get enough clients to earn a living for myself and my kids, as a single mom. Also none of the ideas I was entertaining for earning money on my own really appealed to me. But this morning I had a sudden brainstorm and got some amazing ideas, things that had never occurred to me before. And I felt like they would really work, and also be things I would enjoy doing. I also love Andrea’s baby-step method, I’m real impatient and I always want to take on the world all at once! :-O
So yes I’ve decided to start off small, and not get discouraged if one (advertising) method doesn’t work, I’ve thought of several so if one doesn’t work I’ll just go on to the next. I’m very excited about these wonderful new ideas and I think they just might work, although I’m not 100% sure, after all I’m no entrepreneur and I’ve also always hated studying Business Administration hehe! But it won’t cost me anything to try it out, and I won’t lose anything, except maybe the couple of euros it could cost me to photocopy some signs and posters.

Probably no one is reading these comments but thought I’d follow up. So I followed Andrea’s advice and I am SOOOOOOOO GLAD I did!! Really I don’t know where I’d be today if I hadn’t started my own business. Probably starving to death and living on the street!
But I started my new business and it absolutely took off! Even I’m blown away! Oh wow! In one month I went from zero income and zero clients to now earning enough money to support my kids and myself and to be living well! I also have to thank David Topi (www.davidtopi.com) and his Soul Realignment session that he did for me too, however, removed a TON of blocks that I had to abundance!
