With my obvious new focus on manifesting money, I’ve received the expected share of emails from readers who are obviously firmly in the “money is un-spiritual” camp. No doubt the warnings that I was going down the “wrong” path and that “money won’t buy my ticket to ascension” were well-meant.

I’ll be honest with you. Openly and obviously turning the focus of my work on teaching about manifesting money has been nerve-wracking. I’m a woo-woo, yoga-practicing, sit- -and-meditate kind of girl at heart. The idea of being perceived as “in it just for money” or even remotely “un-spiritual” really pushed my buttons. At the same time, absolutely nothing – no spiritual practice, no meditation techniques, no healing modality – has evolved my consciousness as much as diving into deliberately manifesting money.

The false concept that money isn’t spiritual, that there is something “wrong” with money, is deeply ingrained in collective consciousness. We’re all affected by it to some degree or another, whether we care to admit it or not. I know how difficult it was for me as a spiritual teacher to come out of the “money closet.” I had to nudge myself there, teaching lots of classes on “abundance” and “conscious business” before I embraced “manifesting money.”

I think we all want a healthy bank account. We know that we lead happier, healthier lives without constant worries and stress about money. We want our children to grow up with abundance consciousness. At the same time, there are deep undercurrents in our collective consciousness that say money is bad, evil, dirty, not to be coveted.

This is the essence of the conflict around manifesting money: We want it, and at the same time feel that this is wrong. It’s a great set-up for disempowerment.

When we begin to truly engage with money, this conflict gets triggered and comes to Light. That can initially be so uncomfortable that we disengage once more, surrender to our financial situation, blame the economy, the job market, our education …

But if we dare stay engaged with money, beautiful things begin to happen.

1. We bring self-awareness, consciousness and intention to the most mundane stuff of our physical existence. Our spirituality becomes grounded because it shifts from abstract theory to the practical, tangible reality of our bank account.

2. In manifesting money, we are confronted with every aspect of our self-worth. We come face to face with what we value within ourselves, our contribution to the world, and in others.

3. We mine the depths of our Divine gifts … because that’s the only place abundance can truly come from. And by expressing our unique gifts into the world, they are augmented within ourselves. We step further and further into our potential, to discover that we are, in fact, unlimited.

Oh, and one other benefit to manifesting money: Actual money! :-)

Are you hiding in your own “money closet?” What fears are keeping you in there?

Blessings,
Andrea
