Dear Andrea,
Thanks for reminding me: when I look at my intentions I find myself checking very bluntly my motivation(s) for having these intentions! For me that is the key to materializing my intentions: MOTIVATION! Once that I use that key to open my creativity, the next step is necessarily COMMITMENT! - and that is indispensable. In my limited experience, any other way of "sitting" on my intentions is doomed to lead me to disaster, frustration and doing harm to myself and others (and these were NOT within my intentions, of course!).
Kindly,
Rubens

Andrea, I so agree that when someone has a nebulous intention (desire) not only is it challenging for the Universe to fulfill, but almost impossible to measure in terms of accountability.

I would want to ask that person about their needs, i.e., "What do you need to feel happy - what's not working for you and needs to shift?" From that place they can set a more concrete intention. The more specific they are, the more likely it is that they will be able to language something that they can actually manifest (and know it!).
I think there are lots of people who don't know what their real needs are and discovering those are a great place to start the search for clarity.

As an astrologer, I do it monthly on the New Moon and recommend that others do the same to get into a rhythm of asking and allowing - and then checking to see what has been fulfilled and where they are each month. It is a joyful process!

Hi Andrea

I totally agree with you on this. With clients I make a distinction between an intention and a goal, making the intention usually an act of being and the goal an act of doing or having.

These are just words I use to so that they make tangible intentions. It's very easy for us spiritual seekers to be a bit wishy washy, almost fearful of setting the wrong intention or being vague so they remain open to 'God's plan'.

The difference in the impact is huge, eg intention - to be fit and healthy great state of being yet vague, what does that really mean? The Universe doesn't know what you really want. Goal - to lose 20lbs and wear a size 8. Much clearer, very tangible and you are telling the Universe exactly what you want.

If it's not for your highest good you will find out at some stage and that is just part of the ride.

In peace and proserity x x x

Andrea
It is a long time since I have taken the time to read your blog (sorry but a true confession) and this morning whilst I am quickly doing some online stuff before getting ready for work I noticed the link to this particular blog in my mail.
I have to congratulate you on always being one of the messengers with the most poignant yet realistic message to convey. I love the practical element attached to the ethereal. Yes I am 3 dimensional and yes I am far more than that too but I often have difficulty linking those things together. Often I live in dichotomy and am unsure how to merge my worlds together. You make it simple. Thanks!

You're so right Andrea! When we set intentions for concrete things, we might actually need to let go of some things to make way for the things we say we want.

I've noticed that a lot with simple things like "losing weight", people don't want to give up their foods, or their TV time to exercise. No matter how many nudges they get (like that infomercial selling a rebounder, etc! ;))

I love your blog posts, and thank you so much for sharing your great message. You are awesome!

Andrea I was in total agreement with you until these last two lines. "Commit to intentions that are practical, grounded and describe a new physical reality … and watch doors open. All you have to do is walk through." I guess it comes down to what commitment means for each of us. For me commitment equates to action. I can't commit unless I'm willing to take the next best step to create what I'm committing to. Then those doors open because I'm turning the knob and walking through.
