In my last article, I talked about setting our intentions with absolute certainty. We simply expect our intentions to manifest, because we are the Divine Creators of our experience. The Universe has no other choice but to support us in our creative process.
There’s a difference, though, between certainty and attachment. Have you ever noticed that when you completely, totally expect something, you don’t spend much thought on it? You expect the sun to rise tomorrow. You don’t worry about it all night long – in fact, you don’t give it a second thought. You simply take for granted that the sun will be there.
This is the kind of certainty we are looking to cultivate. We intended it – of course it will manifest. No need to give it a second thought, or worry, or wait. It’s coming. We set our intention, and it will be so.
It’s not easy. Attachment can be sneaky. The first time we manifest effortlessly, we immediately try to do it again. We go into attachment – it’s like we’re looking for proof that we really DID manifest that result! We start looking for our intended outcome, we wait for it to materialize. We fall out of certainty.
We also begin attaching to what the manifestation of our intentions might look like. We set some financial intentions … but now we also want the money to come in through a specific business project. We might get our tax refund instead, but we refuse to “count” that as a response from the Universe, because it just didn’t look the way we thought it would. Mr. or Mrs. Right might cross our path because we set a relationship intention, and we might not even notice because he or she wasn’t what we expected.
At all times, it is our job to tell the Universe what we wish to create. Once we’ve set our intentions, we can expect them to manifest. We don’t need to insist that their manifestation looks a certain way – that would be a limiting micro-management of the Universe. All we have to know is that our intentions are on their way into our lives – and their reality may be far better than anything we could have ever imagined for ourselves.
Blessings,
Andrea

Good post, Andrea.
I think the most important thing we need to set out intentions for is wisdom, to know the right and wrong things for us to want.
Yogananda had a disciple who spent much mental capital “willing” himself a new car, some medium range car, the kind of car escapes me. When told about it, Yogananda said, “That’s too bad, God had in mind a Cadillac for him.”
You are absolutely right that we should not micro-manage the universe. As I’ve said before, “Seek ye first…”
Great explanation!
For many of us, desires don’t seem to manifest and as you point out, it is because of attachment, but also because in the cluttered mind it is difficult to hold a clear, certain intention, when there are inevitably many limiting and opposing beliefs. When the mind is stilled, intentions manifest miraculous.
ReddyK’s point about micromanaging is also great: the only intention I have is that of having a full, interesting life.
This is exactly the way I’ve always felt it works…”trust and surrender”. Unfortunately, easier said than done sometimes.
We are all so connected, and since you are very connected you tap into the universal patterns really well, Andrea. Every post the past few weeks has been what I’ve been thinking. Hmmm, maybe I’m getting better connected. Cool.
Great post, thank you Andrea.
I personally have a hard time not getting attached and not worrying about the how when my intention is something I have already repeatedly failed to achieve in the past. For example losing weight. There are so many negative emotions associated with weight loss now that I never succeed in letting go of attachment or in having a truly positive mindset about my intention.
Is there something to do about that?
Love and Light to you,
Rose.
Thank you so much for posting this when you did, Andrea. As always, your timing could not have been better. This is exactly what I needed to hear, and this is exactly when I needed to hear it. Thanks.
“Have you ever noticed that when you completely, totally expect something, you don’t spend much thought on it?”
…. sheer genius!!
Thanks Andrea
Thank you Andrea for the reminder on this. I have always held this close to me as I grew up in a family that was well aware of their power to manifest. I have many times seen what it is I was asking for years ago. My only hang up is to manifest a tad bit faster
I suppose the only way for this to take place is to make sure I don’t step out of certainty. Along the way I have learned that many people come into play when we want something, and patience and percistance is necessary.
Thanks Andrea!
