Manifesting the Drop of the Other Shoe

Have you ever manifested a financial windfall, only to have your car break down, your air conditioner explode and your child’s school trip to pay for?  Or manifested a relationship, only to have circumstances arise that make it difficult to spend time together?

Creating what we want – magically, inexplicably, powerfully – can be scary business.  We’ve all made prayer requests or stated our intentions to the Universe.  We’ve created our vision boards.  And when our intentions become manifest in a very real, third-dimensional way, we are awestruck at our own magnificence.  We truly experience ourselves as the powerful Creators that we are.

Almost immediately, there’s that little nagging voice that gets very loud, very fast.  “This is too good to be true.  Things like this don’t really happen.  This can’t last.”  There’s a part of us that quakes with fear when we create what we want.  That part of us doesn’t want to believe that we truly manifested our intentions.  That part of us is petrified of our own Divinity.

And so we also manifest the other shoe, dropping.  We manifest our intention, and also the fear that our intention might manifest.  We manifest what we want, and also manifest something that tells us that we can’t really have it all.  We satisfy the part of us that would rather “just” be human than Divine … as if the two could ever be separated.

How do we stop the “two steps forward, one-and-a-half steps back” cycle of manifesting our intentions AND our fear?

  1. Acknowledge that being Divine scares our poor little ego to death.  Along with the elation of having created what we intended, we acknowledge the fear that it might all evaporate, that we cannot hang on to all this abundance.  It’s okay to have this fear.  Fear in no way diminishes us.  It has no power, unless we stuff it into our subconsciousness to fester and grow.
  2. Stay centered in gratitude.  Be grateful to Creator, to Spirit, the Universe, your Guides, your own Higher Self … wherever you feel assistance comes from.  Gratitude helps us stay open to receiving the abundance that we have created.

The other shoe doesn’t have to drop.  We are allowed to be Divine Beings within this human experience.

What “shoe” are you worried about dropping?  Leave your comment and share!

Blessings,
Andrea

Oh, I love this, Andrea!

I was recently trying to explain to a client how his intentions to manifest more income was intertwined with his fear of the additional level of responsibility the wealth might create for him…

I get that this is similar to what you’re describing, and as always, very practical, simple, incredibly useful prescriptive steps to deal with it.

Cool food for thought, thank you!

Fantastic stuff Andrea! There are many ‘other shoes’ in my own life, that I’m working on clearing. Money, for example, comes with the fear of betrayal, or endless hours spent in the accountant’s office. A new relationship again carries fear of betrayal (wonder why this is such a big theme?) and others.

What an easy to follow guidance Andrea, I love it!

I experienced myself often in exactly this situation, having manifested something wonderful – and then waiting for the other shoe to drop. Sure enough that’s exactly what happened, and that ‘other shoe thing’ became just such a familiar pattern to me. So I went on manifesting what I wanted – and what I was afraid of, came as well, loyally and faithfully…

We’ve been talking about it some time ago, and you taught me something that works so brilliantly for me and my clients that I love to share it.

It’s about asking in a non-dual way and means to set an intention that is not driven by what I don’t want, what I need or what I’m afraid of, but clearly something that I want to experience. Period.

And then I ask that it comes to me “under grace and in perfect ways”. Just for safety reasons…

Great guidance, thank you!

Hi Andrea

I’m having a funny day with some big releasing going on and this post is more than timely.

This other shoe phenomenon is happening for me right now and I have been looking into what’s behind it. I was woken in the early hours of the morning with the thought “doubt keeps me from relaising my dreams” and went through the Byron Katie process of questioning the thought.

Your tip of stopping the stop-start cycle “It’s okay to have this fear. Fear in no way diminishes us” is what I came to this morning. The doubt isn’t stopping me, my thinking the doubt is stopping me is stopping me.

What if I can have doubts that don’t stop me? What if I stop powering the doubt by making it wrong and just let it be what it is?

Mmmm – let’s see where this takes me!

In love, light and abundance x x x

Thank you, Slade! Money is such a great example – we want it, we’re afraid of it, and we inevitably manifest a bit of both energies!

Albert – Thank you! The energy of betrayal is definitely in alignment with “the other shoe dropping.” I think it’s all based in a lack of self-trust … we just don’t want to believe that we’ll really attract all that supports us!

Heike – The “non-dual” intention is definitely the way to go! I’m so glad it’s working for you!

Lola – You are so right! If we wait to have no doubts, no fears, no anxiety, especially if we’re about to venture into new territory, then we’ll wait forever. We have doubts – so what? Fear – so what?

My latest strategy is actually looking for that slight discomfort – that bit of uncertainty that tells me I’m about to step outside of my current comfort zone. Growth only happens when we step beyond our current level of comfort, right?

Blessings,
Andrea

Ha! Yet another timely post.
Only the funny thing is that the “other shoe” dropped first…

My daughter’s puppy had to go to the vet – $1000. But thankfully I also manifested $400 in the form of a pet portrait commission to help pay for it. So, I am starting to get the hang of this – just not quite up to what I need.

I know you’ve talked about non-dual requests before – but in the spur of the moment, guides-nudging-me manifestations like this one I just don’t get to thinking of the non-dual beforehand. Can I just put out a “blanket request” to cover all the bases as they come up?

Live and learn!

Blessings,
Keena
