Suzanne, that's great! All this venturing into the "woo-woo" is being affirmed by your Higher Self! Congratulations!

The "cool breeze on your hiney," huh? That's hysterical! Good thing you're being proactive! :-)

Andrea,

Like Tom, what I realized was how far out into the future my mind has wandered - no wonder I've been feeling that notorious "cool breeze on my hiney" (so to speak LOL)

As you know, I recently purchased your book and last night was FINALLY ready for my first dowsing session. As you say in the book, and here at your blog, I didn't get very many surprises, except one: When I asked if I was fully expressing my Soul's highest path and purpose in the life area of Spiritual Development - I got a very definite yes right out of the chute!

Now, ok, this is not a total surprise, I guess, but I really didn't expect to get any yeses right away in that line of questioning. I really thought I'd have to work my way through the %'s (and I do have to do that with all the other areas in Ex. 1). That yes right away did surprise me. (Made me feel good, too.)

I have much more work to do to complete Ex. 1, but I'm buoyed by that yes, because I feel like if I'm in alignment with Spiritual Development, the rest will align more easily...I'll be "flowing" vs. "pushing"...at least that's my hope.

Hi Deb - I love the point you made - "confirmed what I already knew." Isn't it funny how we sometimes need that confirmation to get us moving ... even though that subtle awareness is already there? So often in my intuitive work, I really serve my clients most by bringing forward what is already lurking in the background - they already "know" but the confirmation is what creates forward movement.

Dreamsenshi - I think sometimes writing just three or four words forces us into a specificity that can get lost in stream-of-consciousness writing. I think of some of these words as profound "triggers" that can jolt us to a higher level of awareness. Let us know how it works for you!

Pat - How cool that you got to take ownership of creating some "funk" in your day! :-) I started this morning with some funk, too, so your comment just snapped me out of creating that all day long! Thank you!

Vitor - I'm so glad this served you! It's so funny how the anti-spam words become part of the commenting process. I'm thrilled that you are recognizing that our nudges do push and challenge us at times, rather than always making life comfortable and easy.

Alex - Thank you! Let us know what you discover!

Blessings,
Andrea

Andrea - what a great way to tap into the feedback the Universe is attempting to share with us. Thanks for sharing this experience. I'm anxious to do my list.
Best,

Andrea,

That was quite an interesting excercise! I would have added reading this, but I made the list when I was only halfway through the post.

Really a perfect finish for an inspiring day full of nudges (big and small), challenging me to rise above outer influences and just follow my own essence.

Great post, Andrea. I sat down and did the exercise and knew what the energy was going to be - kind of a funk day - as this is what I'm creating. Working on changing that. Thanks for great writing and information and reminders.

Very cool! As for myself, I usually write myself little e-mails as something happens. Talking to myself helps me sort out and come to conclusions, but I like your exercise and want to try it too! I think, because it's more specific and not as much of a random flow of words as my writing tends to be, it could help me get to the point a with a little bit more clarity, and more importantly show me what is more important to me in the big scheme of things. :) Thank you for sharing!

Andrea,
Thank you for this practical exercise. Your willingness to share your examples made the exercise come alive for me. In fact I immediately took pen to paper, did the exercise, and confirmed what I already knew. Taking action feels better than "waiting." Creating also feels great, although I experienced frustration with that process yesterday when writing a blog post. Technical problems with Typepad interfered with being able to save my editing as I did it. Sometimes I also fall into the perfection mode when creating and that feels lousy!!

Akemi - I think "I get more done when I don't push too hard" is an awesome recognition! I would think you can apply that all kinds of places ... so now the next step is to recognize when you are "pushing." What would happen if you "flowed" instead? See what that creates ... let us know!

KL - You got it! :-)

Bente - Wow! What an awesome discovery. You're right, sometimes we do get too caught up in all the stuff we're "doing" to listen to Spirit. Luckily, life points this out to us, right?

Tom - Woohoo for creating powerfully! And what awesome recognitions! I'm particularly excited that you realized you've been receiving plenty of guidance! That is wonderful.

And of course, we never notice guidance when we're off in the future ... that's when life yells at us to "come baaack! I'm over here, in the present!"

Mags - What you're doing is, of course, what we all need to be doing - bringing consciousness to our day AND consciousness to what we're creating in each moment AND consciousness to what this manifests .... it's a lot to be conscious of! :-) Sounds like you're doing great!

Z - Yup, I think we've all gotten that kick a few times! See, I think the kick can be avoided if we just pay attention .... all positive learning experiences, all the time. I'm just an optimist by nature!

Thank you to all for trying this out with me, and your feedback!

Blessings,
Andrea

Andrea, I believe what you say here says it all:

"Choosing conscious awareness is definitely preferable to waiting for life to show us – often quite painfully - what we need to change."

I've found that when I'm not paying attention, I get a figurative "kick in the pants" from life to wake me up!

What a powerful exercise - thank you Andrea!

I read your post this morning, and so far today I've been doing a version of the exercise, in the sense that I've been more aware of the energy that I'm bringing to each segment of my day. It's amazed me how different my "default" energy is in many situations from what I would like it to be, and this eye-opener has been the catalyst for me setting much more conscious intentions for the activities I do.

I love your adjectives for describing the Universe, "responsive and malleable." Thanks for the mantra – my Universe is responsive and malleable. I am powerfully creating right now.

I read your post and sat down immediately to complete the exercise. As a result I had these two realizations.
1). My inventory wasn’t about conversations or occurrences. What mostly came up for me were thoughts concerning future events. I had no idea how far I had removed myself from the present. Some were strong and hopeful but half would have to fall in a somewhat fearful category. Yuck!
2). I've been concentrating on requesting guidance on work issues for a few weeks now. This exercise made me realize that I've already gotten more than enough guidance to fill my plate. Now my job is to align the appropriate energy to these objectives so I can help the Universe form them as desired.

Thanks Andrea this was useful and powerful!

I am so excited about your blog today.
I have been thinking about this for days. Since we know we are all creators of all our experiences, it is only natural to want to figure out why negative things happen to us.
I have had a few things happen lately that has made me think
It was not until I was still, sat down and meditated, that I got the answer.
As far as the body and mind, my vibration was great, but when I looked at my spiritual life, my vibration was low.
I verbalized my faith, but my vibration did not match my words.
I felt God was speaking to me.
I started to cry, and that is all it took to " Let Go "
Sometimes we get to busy for God. He speaks, but through all the noise in our head we can't hear him.
We can only hear him when we are still
Thank you so much Andrea for making us all think

I am so excited about your blog today.
I have been thinking about this for days. Since we know we are all creators of all our experiences, it is only natural to want to figure out why negative things happen to us.
I have had a few things happen lately that has made me think
It was not until I was still, sat down and meditated, that I got the answer.
As far as the body and mind, my vibration was great, but when I looked at my spiritual life, my vibration was low.
I verbalized my faith, but my vibration did not match my words.
I felt God was speaking to me.
I started to cry, and that is all it took to ” Let Go ”
Sometimes we get to busy for God. He speaks, but through all the noise in our head we can’t hear him.
We can only hear him when we are still
Thank you so much Andrea for making us all think

Ok, I think I missed the point of this in my first read through... thank god for comments!

So you look at the energy generated throughout the day and figure out what it says about you... and then figure out what to bring to it to change that energy?

Am I getting it now?

Okay, I just did this exercise in my journal. I sort of hit my bottom yesterday morning. I woke up from a bad dream with my own scream, and decided to take the day easy. It was a beautiful day, and I just soaked up the sun, walked around, bought some good chocolate, and I felt a nudge so I bought a lottery ticket. It was a vending machine I never used, and I really wasn't sure what I was doing, but it's only $2, so I got it, came home feeling relaxed and happy.

This morning, another bad dream. It's like my Higher Power is making sure I turn things over. So I decided to have another slow day, although I did post new article and worked on my draft of PR in the afternoon. Checked the lottery result and looks like I won $12! It's not a huge amount, but this is my first time to win a lottery. I also received some kind emails from a few friends.

What do all these mean? Hmm. . . It seems I get more things done when I don't push too hard? And you know I push (work) hard. I am not sure how to interpret all the events -- hoping to do away with the bad dream . . .
